$130 a month to deny every claim citing an unrelated condition. And not honoring their “preexisting condition” policy, claiming that schistosomiasis is not a curable disease despite being provided peer reviewed research and letters from veterinarians explaining that this is incorrect.

Hard to work with, claims keep getting denied for silly reasons.

Worst insurance company. Do not hire this company. They will not approve any of your claims although perfectly legitimate and inline with supposed coverage. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service and they stated that my dog was completely covered for a dental cleaning only to get completely denied. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend. No one was willing to be helpful. Claimed to reach out to Vet office which was false. When proper documentation was provided, I was denied. I’m absolutely disappointed as I’m out of $1000.

This company is a SCAM! They denied my claim for my dog's hospital visit without explanation. Please don't fall for this fraudulent company.

Every claim I have written has been denied. They have asked for medial records for minimum of 1 year and my dog isn't one year old. I have also submitted other claims and they were denied as pre-existing conditions. Upon supplying additional information the claims were still denied. DO NOT GO HERE you will write a check for insurance only for all claims to be denied.

Spot was a totally frustation to us. Everything looked pretty when we signed up but as soon as we needed them after my first dog Tim went to surgery, everything fell apart. Tim had a non pre-condition proved by our vet through a letter and all the documents they requested. Till the day I am writing this, I am still waiting for an answer (after maybe 4 times trying to get a justification why they are not covering his surgey?) Just to give you an idea how much frustation and unsecurity they brought us, we have a pending case which they have stalled us since November 2024 and when I am writing this is April 2025. Every time we called them to ask for a follow-up, the new person talking to us said the process was never claimed before, or they ask for more documentation to evaluate the claim, or they just dont reply. Don´t recommend it at all, just why I am here in this website looking for another pet insurance.

Unable to cancel policy with unethical business practices. You cannot cancel online, on your app, over email, or on their online form. Additionally the only way to cancel is calling 1-800-905-1595 BUT THE NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. Additionally, you can't just remove a form of payment without adding a new one. The ONLY choice I had was canceling a credit card to not get charged in the future as not a single sole from the company was reachable and there IS NOT A WAY to cancel your policy.

Spot deserves 0 stars. My dog needed to be seen for a new heart murmur. I went through the work to find available coupons and discounts for the work that had to be done and ended up saving $211 on the bill. Spot thought I went through the work to benefit them and took the $211 directly off of what they would reimburse me. I contacted them and tried to explain my reasoning with no resolve. Don't get trapped with the Spot, they are just another SLIMY insurance company who will screw customers over just to save a dime. Their customer service sucks and I 1000% would NOT recommend doing business with Spot to cover your furry friends! DO NOT get pulled into their catchy phrases claiming #1 pet insurance, In fact, they are #1 WORST pet insurance!!! There is a reason there are no Google reviews. What a shame, be better Spot. ***Edit after response - If Spot had included the whole invoice in the claim that would make more sense, but it was not. Still very unhappy, and no point reaching out again, because nothing will change, a waste of time.
