Bought a pair of Skwamas 2 years ago. Leaving in Netherlands with no access to open air routes I have only used them ~50 times in total and for indoor climbing, due to corona. When not in use they were kept in the original box with the silica beads. Nevertheless, the sole around the main body of shoe started de-touching and the synthetic leather started decompossing (hairy texture) . I love how they fit on my foot and the grip but they are too expensive to be considered single/few-time use shoes ! !

Poor customer service. I have a slew of climbing/bouldering shoes, running, hiking, and ski boots. Climbing shoes are no issue, work great and have a long life. Hiking shoes are good too. Running shoes destroyed my feet and I won't touch them with 5 uses or less, customer service couldn't care less. Ski boots, abysmal experience. La Sportiva Spitfire 2.1 Alpine touring boots (got on a major sale thank god), boot is almost $1,000 new. Buckles, straps, liner all having issues in the first month. Boot is most unskiable POS ever used and the company couldn't give a crap. Again customer service would not address any issues.

My experience with La Sportiva hiking and mountaineering boots has been very positive in the most part. I've owned and used Boulder mid GTX approach boots, Nepal Evos and Spantik boots, and I've climbed with friends using Olympus Mons. All have been very positive, except for durability. The Boulder GTX soles were completely worn out after just 6 months, and the Spantik and Oly Mons were rather too delicate for a mountaineering boot and easily damaged. I give only a two star rating because La Sportiva are utterly inept at giving any information and advice about their products. When asked about the relative thermal performance between their older Spantik high altitude boot and the newer G2SMs customer service say the company cannot possibly comment because they have no way of measuring themal performance. If this is true it does not inspire much confidence in La Sportiva's design capabilities. I've still no idea if the G2SM boots will be as warm as my old Spantiks, so I will probably be using an alternative brand that knows what they are doing in future!
