I’ve read all the positive reviews but cannot get anyone to respond to my inquiry of questions I have! I’ve called several times, left messages, no return calls. All I’ve received are 6 emails now for me to sign off on the documents. This is too important a decision to make for me to just blindly commit myself to. All I need is someone who can answer my questions. This has been going on for almost a week.

I thought I asked all the right questions
I asked all the right questions. I asked about credit scores and was completely transparent about my score. I asked about their process for determining the value of my home and was assured that the valuation would be accurate. Everything seemed to line up—until suddenly, everything went blank.
Then I was asked if anyone else on the title had a higher credit score. That confused me because they had already pulled the title and could clearly see that I was the only person on the deed. When I questioned it, I was finally told that I didn’t have enough equity in my home to proceed and that my application was being declined.
That’s my biggest issue.
They already knew my credit score. They had my information. They had access to the title. They knew the details of my property. If there was a possibility from the beginning that I wouldn’t have enough equity to qualify, why put me through the entire process? Why have me schedule an inspection, gather paperwork, provide information, and jump through all those hoops?
Just beware. This process is not as easy as they make it sound.
When they want your information and think your application is moving forward, they will call you and communicate with you. But once they decide your file is heading toward the “decline” bin, that communication seems to disappear.
And then you have to ask yourself: Is giving up 25% of the potential future equity in your home really worth it?
Do you know what your home will be worth in 10, 15, or 20 years? Think about giving up 25% of that future appreciation. That could be a substantial amount of money for what may seem like a little money today.
And now, on top of walking away empty-handed, I have a hard inquiry on my credit report that dropped my score even further.
I thought I had done my homework before jumping into this. Apparently, I didn’t think it through quite enough.
Lesson learned. Do your research, ask the hard questions, and make sure you fully understand what you’re giving up—not just what you’re getting today. This seems to be one of their biggest complaints.

Poor transparency
To Whom It May Concern at Splitero Funding, Inc.,
I have received your denial letter regarding my home equity investment application, and I must say I am thoroughly unimpressed by both your process and your communication. After submitting all required information and waiting for your so-called "thorough review," your only explanation is "insufficient equity"—a vague and unhelpful excuse that reeks of bureaucratic laziness. If your underwriting standards are as opaque and arbitrary as your denial letter, it's no wonder customers are left frustrated and in the dark.
Furthermore, hiding behind credit reporting agencies and generic language does nothing to clarify your decision or help applicants improve their standing. If you are unable or unwilling to provide real feedback, perhaps you should reconsider your approach to customer service and transparency.
I will be sure to share my experience with others considering your services, so they know exactly what to expect: a waste of time and a lack of respect for applicants.
Sincerely,
Vernon T

After so much paperwork
After so much paperwork, time and requesting docs from the courthouse like a marriage certificate etc. and paying for expediting. I was told that my property was worth less than the appraisal value and so 3 week down this rabbit hole I was told that I did not qualify. The title company lady was supper rude. They first approved me and then they did not. Very dissapointed!

Feel lied to
Prior to submitting an application, I told the representative all the details regarding my situation. Supposedly, he went to the loan officer and asked if I was qualified for their equity program. He came back and said yes. I promptly submitted the application with all the documentation. After no communication for a week despite my text and voice messages, I received a denial letter. It stated that my property was ineligible and had insufficient equity. They offer no further explanation. They did not tell me upfront that my property was not eligible - I specifically asked if it was a candidate. Also, my property has 67% of the equity free. I do not understand this decision and why they wasted my time.

Horrible experience with this company
Horrible experience with this company. Rep Sung W. was incompetent. She assured us we were in good hands but that was a total lie.

Cold unhelpful interaction - to be avoided
When we called we were unable to reach a human - not much trust there. The AI refused to remove us from their unsolicited junk mail list. Environmentally unsound invasion of our privacy, and a bit of a bully. Wouldn't encourage me to do business with them.
