A BD gift for my husband, something he had longed to do for several years ….
An excellent experience in every way, from initial booking through to the flight itself, we were very impressed by this company; a very efficient, professional and dedicated team, who were warm and welcoming on the day.
The 75 min Spitfire Experience, from Leeds East, (formerly RAF Church Fenton) did not disappoint, my husband was truly in his element. A day he will never forget !!
The video offered for sale is of very high quality, a wonderful memento.
The venue was great with a nice cafe for coffee, lunch and cakes, dog friendly too. Adequate parking in a pleasant rural location.
If you are considering a Spitfire Flight Experience we would highly recommend Spitfires.Com
Many thanks to all the team who made the day very special indeed.
Five Stars 🌟 well deserved.

Tribute to the RAF:
Tribute to the RAF: The Guardians of Britain’s Sky
There are moments in life that make you stop and truly understand the courage of those who came before. Flying in a Spitfire does exactly that. The moment the Merlin engine roars to life, you feel the echo of the men who once strapped themselves into these machines not for adventure, but for the survival of a nation.
The RAF pilots of the Battle of Britain were young, often barely out of school, yet they carried the weight of an entire country on their shoulders. They climbed into the sky day after day, knowing the odds, knowing the danger, and knowing that every flight could be their last. Still they went — unyielding, unbroken, unwavering.
They met the Luftwaffe head on, outnumbered but never outmatched in spirit. Their Spitfires and Hurricanes carved defiance into the clouds, turning back bomber formations that threatened towns, families, and futures. Every interception was an act of courage. Every victory was a shield over Britain’s people.
Flying in a Spitfire is not just an experience — it’s a connection. You feel the history in the controls, the determination in the engine’s growl, and the bravery in the very shape of the wings. You understand, even for a moment, what “The Few” gave so that the many could live free.
This tribute is for them — the RAF pilots who held the sky when the world seemed to be falling. Their courage didn’t just repel an enemy; it preserved a nation’s soul. And their legacy still rides on the wind, carried by every Spitfire that takes to the air.
Review: My Flight in the Two Seater Spitfire
There are moments in life that etch themselves into your memory with absolute clarity — my flight in a two seater Spitfire was one of them. From the second I arrived at the airfield and saw that iconic silhouette waiting on the tarmac, I knew I was about to experience something extraordinary.
Settling into the cockpit felt like stepping directly into history. The smell of aviation fuel, the tight harness, the polished metal around me and all the controls in front of me, everything carried the weight of the RAF pilots who once climbed into these very machines with far more on the line than a scenic flight. When the Merlin engine fired up, the entire aircraft seemed to come alive beneath me. The sound wasn’t just loud; it was emotional, a deep mechanical heartbeat that vibrated through my chest.
The takeoff was smooth but powerful, and as we climbed into the sky, the world below fell away in a rush of wind and sunlight. Seeing the landscape from a Spitfire’s canopy is unlike any other flight — the wings curving out beside you, the engine ahead pulling you forward with unmistakable purpose. It felt fast, agile, and astonishingly graceful.
We banked, rolled, and soared in wide arcs that made the sky feel endless. Every movement reminded me why this aircraft became a symbol of Britain’s resilience. You don’t just ride in a Spitfire — you feel it. You understand, even for a moment, the courage of the pilots who once flew these machines into battle.
It was emotional, exhilarating, and humbling all at once. I’m 100% certain this is an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life. If you’ve ever dreamed of flying in a Spitfire, stop dreaming and do it — nothing compares.
I wish to pay tribute to the team from Spitfires.com, I can’t remember all your names but I do remember my pilot on this occasion “Simon Johnstone” who was the nicest person you could meet, he kept me informed of everything we did including giving me control of this iconic aircraft and taking me through a barrel roll and a loop enabling me to see the earth upside down from the cockpit of the mighty Spitfire.
A great day thanks to my Sister Sue who made me the happiest man alive on that fantastic day, thanks also to my son Jamie who came and supported me and last but not least my good friend Les for the fantastic photographs

One of the best experiences of my life
One of the best experiences of my life! Fantastic from start to finish. I had a bucket list of just one item and this was it. I had an hour's flight from Goodwood and it was over all too soon. Flying in a Spitfire really is like putting on a coat. Such a beautiful aircraft.
All the staff went out of their way to make the experience even more memorable but special thanks to Carl for making my wife feel at home while I was aloft. And very, very special thanks to Charlie Huke with whom I would fly again and again and again and hope to do so in the not too distant future.
I'm still buzzing !

SPITFIRE Simulator at Goodwood. Spitfires.com
Spitfire Simulator at Goodwood. Very fortunate to have had an excellent visit to Spitfires.com. The hour long 'flight' in the simulator was superb experience. Very useful to have had a look at the various UTube tutorials about the aircraft and the instructions. The Aircraft WW2 Operating Manual is also available online, pdf for a few pounds. Nigel, the instructor was excellent with his clear instructions and patience! He made the Day, thank you. My only hands on flying experience was na SEAKING 45 years ago and a Tiger Moth 25 years ago. It is worth learning the layout of the cockpit. After the Sim, Ben gave a great walk around of the Spits in Maintenance and talked their history. Thank Ben. BZ. A joy to meet the Squadron Dog, "Chewie" Spitfire.com also market Flights in a Spit and a Chase Plane for the family. "Cant Wait" as the kids say!

One of the best days of my life.
The family bought me this very special ticket and whilst I did have some worries prior to the flight on the day everything was just so so perfect. The ground crew looked after me and my family, that I paid to be able to go up in a sky taxi, brilliantly and made the day even more special. I was greeted by a young chap and was a little concerned as I thought he might be my pilot, but no he was the charming chap who was going to get me physically and mentally ready flor the flight.
The pilot was a very experienced man who totally looked after me. Once in the plane we could speak to each other and he made sure I was alright throughout the flight. The sky taxi took off 5 or 10 minutes before we did but then we caught it up very quickly and then came in alongside both sides of it and then peeled away to ensure those onboard got great photos and videos of the flight.
I chose to fly out over Portsmouth and Gosport, then out over the Isle of Weight where I was allowed to take control and fly the plane for a minute or so. Shortly after that I was asked what manoeuvre I wished the pilot to make and I said a victory roll, which was just fabulous to experience.
On our return the wider family were waiting and we were given plenty of time to have our photos taken with the plane and the crew. I should also mention that we had the most sensational blue sky day which just added to the overall experience.
Thank you all that did this for me and the family. Good value for money and sorry for not getting around to writing this review sooner.
