A waste of time and money
I was subscribed to an unlimited SpiderOak ONE account for several years. I ran the client for many weeks to upload my files over high speed fiber connection, but never managed to even upload a whole terabyte. I should have cancelled after the first year but didn't get around to it hoping it would get better and also didn't notice the silent annual auto-billing to my credit card until later each time. I think the only way to cancel the auto-billing is to cancel your account and it's not made clear whether or not that means immediate termination and loss of access to any data in the cloud regardless of how much longer you have already paid for. They don't notify anything either before or after billing. The only indication is the charge on your statement. I appreciate that they have refunded the recent charge now upon request. The subscription proved quite useless because it was always so terribly slow and no doubt trotted beyond usable. The client is terribly cumbersome to use, un-intuitive, seems like a 20 years outdated java app and freezes and crashes all the time. Opens handles for no reason to any external storage you connect so that they can't be safely dismounted. If you manually exit the client, it won't start again without a system reboot. So this was really a waste of my time and money. I should not have signed up.
