this website is so crap. i come onto it once a week to complete this ai slop despite it going against my morals and attempt to complete homework that wont accept a correct answer if you wont like do four twirls and sing it a happy tune. i struggle with anger and a way i let out this rage is hitting myself (im soo incel core) i let marks due to this website. tbh gouging out my own eyes seems more appealing than sparx.

I am allergic to this website
Every single Wednesday, I wake up full of dread and sighs. This website is to serious for alot of people. The spellings have to be accurate and your expected yo provide top tier answers. Thankfully, my school only set Sparx Science 4 times but those 4 times were nearly 4 hours of my life I'll never get back. Brace yourself if your school decides to use Sparx Science.

its the worst website ever
its the worst website ever. i have never seen so many errors and mistakes. it takes to long to complete and schools should not use this. when i answer a question correct on the flash cards it doesn't count it or it say (for example) 3 questions and then there's 6. i genuinely dont know why schools use it

I’m gonna be honest alright:
From the one side the entirety of Sparx’s philosophy is, alright, ish. I think the heart of it was trying to hit somewhere that would in its outcome be both meaningful and educational to half the kids in Britain.
On the other side, oh geez, wow done Mark Dixon1!1!
“100% or your parents are held hostage.” 100!?!? This notion hits horribly and is flawed. To actually achieve 100% is to mean that every possible requirement within a solution has ran perfectly. And this is the part of Sparx that becomes degenerative to students. And what many people complain about - Besides the content, or the Privacy Policy - Nobody on Earth IS perfect my guy.
I’ll take both sides of the story here. On one hand you have the 99% of schools, starving of money and resources, (Partially!) by a government more concerned about the Price of Eggs and raising Inheritance Tax YET again. Schools have to find a solution: Students can’t walk out of school forgetting information. Else SATs and GCSEs will look, mediocre to say the least. I get that.
The other thing is also down to (stressed) teacher workload: I think just about everybody wishes to leave at 5:20 and not spend an evening marking 30 separate papers. I get that as well.
One more thing I’d like to clarify is that, in Britain as far as I know anyways, the general advice or guidance on what tools or services used within most schools is set by their Trusts (Search it up) so yea, it is also on them.
Going back to the philosophy, AIMING to 100% shoul- No, MUST be an alternative. 100% is just both calculated and robot-like. And we are far from Robots, we are Humans.
Humans have a trait that Robots do not, we are not straight thinkers. By that I mean that a Robot’s circuitry within physics must always lead back to the start or end.
Humans are creative, Humans are argumentative, Humans are always looking to get back at each other.
But do you know what you should be most ashamed of? Marx Dixon? The fact I am having to bring this example up.

This ruined my medical passion
Before my school started using Sparx science, I had a great passion for the subject, I even wanted to be a doctor. But as soon as we started using this ai slop for homework, it took a matter of weeks for that passion for medicine just fade away. The questions are horrendously worded, the accepted answers are either too specific or too vague and it's sometimes just plain old wrong.
