In my school, they implemented this and it was HELL. I had to get 600 SRP which would usually take me 2-3 hours of straight stress and boredom, then they reduced it to 300 which i half-settled with. But after they raised it back to 600 I just gave up and endured the scolding from English teachers. The app is so corrupt towards students, as to schools and staff, it looks like a useful reading app that encourages reading and even emails parents when they requirements aren't being met. And sparx gets money for schools implementing it. Yet, for students. It is a multi-hour chore that has no fun in it whatsoever and is unimaginably stressful. It is a ploy for money with not remotely any care for students' wellbeing or quality of life. In fact, the only reason the company is still afloat is because nobody would trust teenagers and their opinions on homework. Even though there are hundreds of adult-signed petitions talking about how their child has had breakdowns and anxiety attacks from the app, they just continue to ignore it. The experience is so horiffic that I myself have decided to completely give up on homework whatsoever and take the punishment.

I can confidently say that Sparx Reader is the most horrible homework website I have ever dealt with. Teachers claim it should take 30 mins to achieve 300 SRP for your homework but it took 1 hour 30 minutes. The books do not suit my interest. This website makes something that I already find difficult even more infuriating. So be warned if your school decides to use Sparx Reader, your in for an emotional 5 years.

Blumming rubish.I admit it normal reading is fun but being foreced to read and nkt being able to choose the books other than 6 choices.It takes almost an hour to do its way to hard and the xp mechanic and the questions just makes the children read quicker to get it done and nit acctually take in the book. By the way this is a review from a child that uses this website

Made me want to do my homework even less, chose romance? No romance books AT ALL, if i could give it 0, I would

This website is genuine horror. My school sets me this for homework and now I embrace myself every Thursday just to do this. It's just brutal. It LITERALLY kills the joy, or the point, of reading. The people I know in my year group who used to love reading literally stopped, like I never see them hold a book ever since. This app promised to bring some sort of joy in reading, yet does the complete opposite. If the company bothers to see this- this is what I want for Sparx Reader add/change: 1. Dark mode. Staring and reading a book with a BRIGHT LIGHT as the background built my fear towards Sparx Reader. 2. Search Bar. EVERYONE is struggling to find the book they like, based on their favourite genre. So why not add a search bar? When you force someone to read a book they don't want to choose yet they have to for "purposes" it's straight up pressure. 3. Questions and answers. The questions genuinely needs to change as well as the answers. They always question about stuff which readers ignore because they are irrelevant to the story's plot. Since this is an English-based platform, I suggest link to language devices and metaphors etc etc. 4. Why is it that if you get one or two wrong, you have to restart the passage?

I love reading, it is one of my favourite hobbies. But Sparx?, SPARX? No, I do not love sparx. in fact, the only time I have ever stopped reading for a prolonged period of time is when I started sparx. I genuinely feel that the AM hate speech is not enough to encompass my pure, undiluted hatred for this "app". This app makes me abhor all things even tangentially related to reading. So great.

Ruins the experience of reading and takes forever

This is just awful. Nothing can come close to explain how absolutely abysmal this is. I just wish I could put less than 1 star. This is just not okay. If you think you should be forced to do this every week then there is something very wrong. No.
