Southern Guarantee Moving and StorageReviews of southernguaranteemoving.com

Deceptive Company: I should have read trust pilot before hiring. Everything you read is absolutely true. When you call for the price, they are nice and tell you everything you want to hear (they lied 100%) when the movers arrived, charge was 100% more then my original quote. Once you pay their deposit- you can never speak to your "agent" again, you get general CS team who reads canned responses. Do not use this company.

Most disorganized moving company! We moved state to state and we were not updated on where the truck (our items were) what-so-ever! The only time I got updates is when I would call DAILY. They told us they drive 500 miles a day to make it to our desired delivery day/backup delivery day and neither day was met. They were delayed by TWO WEEKS and later we got our things from some guy (one I may add, no moving company like promised) who shared he was hired off of Craigslist (he saw a posting online) which we never gave permission for the company to post??!! How is that okay? Although, we were very grateful for his help because it took him alone and my bf all day to unload and assemble our furniture. Most items were left in our garage because they couldn’t finish. My bf was upset he had to help and do a lot of heavy lifting which we did not pay and sign up for. *My bf’s air fryer is destroyed. We will be fileing a claim for sure!!!!!!! **May I add my pet was without a cage and all of our Christmas decor, trees, clothing, pots & pans, and many more for that two week period. We sat on the floor to eat and used an air mattress during that time. It was definitely very sad and disappointing not having any of our furniture for Christmas. I don’t like writing bad reviews but this was very disheartening experience that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. Especially before the best time of the year!

Jordan quoted my daughter a total price of $2995.00 with a $1200.00 deposit second payment of$700.00 and another payment of$795.00 upon delivery. And when movers arrived they loaded up items and a motorcycle which they then informed her there was a special handling fee (first time hearing that). The second payment was to be $700.00 when stuffed picked up, but once items on the truck they wanted $2800.00 ,.I had to pay it cuz my daughter needed out of abusive relationship. They also stated $1200.00 upon delivery. That is $5500.00 far far from $2995.00 Also upon delivery cash only. Or money order. I have left several messages with Jordan with no response back. This company is fraudulent and took advantage of a young girl in a bad situation. Shame on them. Hopefully I can get a lawyer .

I would give 0 stars if I could. We scheduled a move on a certain date and then without any notice, the date was changed. This happened 3 days before we were scheduled to move! The supervisors were less than helpful and rude on the phone. They explained that they couldn’t refund us the $800 deposit even though they didn’t do anything for us but cause additional stress. Our dispatcher was very misleading and said everything necessary to get us to sign the paperwork, making it seem as if they had our best interest in mind. If you want an easy move, do yourself a favor and choose someone else! These people do not care about your time or money! If you do choose to hire these people regardless of the multitude of negative reviews, make sure you read their contract very carefully. They aren’t scared to screw you over!

I sought to do business with this company in which lulled me into giving me the best deal on the market. Upon closer inspection, this is a non-binding estimate. This means when all is said and done, upon pickup they can add arbitrary charges. Upon shipping they can add arbitrary charges, upon delivery they can add arbitrary charges. All reviews state the actual movers are terrible, which I believe. The customer reps are very scummy, specifically Sam, who clearly has no remorse and much experience ripping people off. This is something you can tell in her voice, something I picked up when consulting with her before this company did any damage to me. I asked them to cancel this shipment within 10 hours of requesting it. They stated they will continue to charge my account and give me their useless credit, which they did. However, I got the last laugh because a simple call to the bank got me my money back from this scam company. So Sam, you are a vile worm and will die as unhappy as you sound. Good luck with that. PS: They post many fake reviews everywhere to bump up their rating.

Like most others, I had a horrible experience. Southern is a contractor and contacted me to an incredibly horrible company called Carefree Movers, Inc. My initial “binding” estimate was $1800. Final price after they siphoned what they could was double that. They were also late on pickup, several days late on delivery, and had several boxes/ items damaged, including my cat tree (which my cats loved). When calling the boss of the movers, I encountered the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever seen or heard of. Do not use them!

Do not go through Southern Guarantee to move - they are BROKERS, not the actual moving company! Contact a moving company DIRECTLY... this will save you a ton of money. The deposit you pay goes directly to the broker, NOT TOWARD YOUR MOVE. Also, there will be hidden costs... no matter how diligent you are in providing Southern Guarantee a true and accurate inventory. These companies don't communicate so if the moving company has different policies than Southern Guarantee, you have to abide by the moving company's policy... that's where the hidden fees come in. And Southern Guarantee DOES NOT disclose this. Oh they give vague reference in the fine print, but they are not communicative about ANYTHING when you are coordinating with their representatives. By the time you actually have an opportunity to read the estimate in its entirety, you are committed. They push you and tell you the "quote" they are giving you is only good for that moment. So you pay their deposit and think they are being up front about everything. They are not. In addition, Southern Guarantee ONLY cares about the deposit you make at the beginning... after that they don't care whatsoever how complicated or expensive it gets because you either suck it up and pay or cancel the move and lose the deposit. I feel so sorry for people who have a very limited budget and get handed a bunch of extra costs with no recourse. The movers themselves were fine and are only doing their job... the real crook here is the broker... in this case Southern Guarantee. Finally - pay in cash!!! You will be charged a ridiculous fee to use a credit or debit card. Southern Guarantee will not tell you that... oh they will say you can pay with a credit card, but they won't mention the fees. Overall, this company is shady and unethical and just trying to make a buck.

Same situation as most of the other reviews. They upcharged a couple days before they showed up, then again when the contractors showed up. I had to get rid of a couple grand worth of stuff. Late arrival, past 30 days. Broken items and lost boxes. The customer service is bad. Southern Guarantee contracted it out and then if, and when, you have issues you will be on your own to talk to the people they contract it out to who hardly picked up the phone in our experience.
