Avoid SOS Geek
Avoid SOS Geek. I would give negative stars if that were possible. SOS Geek sent me to one of its client locations and instructed me to stay for a minimum of two hours so it could bill the client, regardless of whether the work required that amount of time. I followed their instruction. Then, after I went only nine minutes past the two-hour mark, they turned around and said they did not want to pay me because I supposedly took too long. You cannot tell a contractor to remain onsite for billing purposes and then refuse to pay that contractor for following your directions. That is unfair, dishonest business practice in my opinion, and completely unacceptable. Their communication was equally unprofessional. The client did not seem clear on whether they were supposed to pay me or SOS Geek. I was also told dispatch allegedly tried to call me but could not communicate because I “didn’t speak English.” That claim makes no sense and was plainly untrue. It raises serious questions about whether they even contacted the right person. My experience was chaotic, disrespectful, and unpaid. I would never work with SOS Geek again. Contractors: get every instruction and payment term in writing before accepting work from this company. Customers: read the reviews carefully and ask detailed questions about billing before allowing them to send someone to your location.
