I have been a provider on SonderMind for several years. This review is from a clinician perspective, because other therapists and potential clients deserve to know what they are signing up for. When I finally needed SonderMind to actually show up for a serious clinical situation, they didn't. I waited over 3 months for a response to an urgent case, and when it came, it was clearly AI-generated, full of empty validation, and ended with "handle it yourself, you're an independent contractor." SonderMind sells providers on care coordination support, but that support does not exist when it actually matters. The platform itself is glitchy, buggy, and unreliable. If you are a therapist considering joining, go in with eyes open. If you are a client using this platform, there are better options out there. Contact your provider directly to schedule, or find a therapist who operates independently. You will get a better experience elsewhere.

Set up an account and began using it. Instantly started getting multiple emails, almost harrassment, choose a therapist, tell us what you are looking for, rate your therapy session, blah, blah, blah. Trying to cancel and deactivate my account now and I can't seem to get past all the automated gobblygook and am not sure I'm going to get a response. I don't want my data in their system anymore!

My experience with SonderMind was disappointing from start to finish. The problems began almost immediately with scheduling. My provider repeatedly struggled with time zone differences, resulting in appointments being scheduled at the wrong time. On one occasion, the scheduling confusion became so severe that my provider completely missed a session because they had double-booked themselves and had to reschedule. The sessions themselves did little to inspire confidence. Appointments were conducted via video, yet my provider routinely appeared from what looked like a cluttered spare room rather than a professional office setting. While appearance alone isn’t everything, it contributed to an overall lack of professionalism. Adding to that impression, my provider openly complained about SonderMind’s built-in video platform and asked me to join a separate Zoom meeting instead. The final straw was my last session. I left feeling attacked, defeated, and significantly worse than when I started. Immediately afterward, I texted a friend: “I don’t think therapy is supposed to leave me feeling more shitty about myself and my situation and more helpless/stuck. I will not be seeing this lady again.” Whether that was the provider, the therapeutic approach, or a complete mismatch is difficult to say, but it was enough for me to end treatment. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. I have had billing questions and have reached out to SonderMind customer service three separate times since June 6. To date, I have received no response whatsoever. I understand that not every provider is representative of an entire platform, but my experience with SonderMind combined administrative incompetence, poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and nonexistent customer support. Therapy requires trust, reliability, and responsiveness. I found none of those things here. ★☆☆☆☆ — I came looking for support and left with scheduling headaches, billing questions, and less confidence in the process than when I started.

I don't know what kind of garbage is going on with this company and the VA but, I asked for 1 on 1 in person mental health care somewhere in my community. At least within 45 minutes of driving. I am not interested in nor do I want video conferencing with someone. I did not accept Sondermind the first time around and I'm not accepting it now.

To start with. The privacy policy and the terms of service agreement is 43 pages long. Seems the last thing they want is for you to know what you're signing. I started to print it but even if you read it all... Do you understand it? No .. Why 43 pages of verbiage unless they needs to sneak something by you?

Horrible experience. I have not spoken with a professional yet. "let me make this clear in my sounder mind." I have called and spoken with customer service representatives that were not professional that were not attending to the needs of people who actually need help; so my comment of saying I have not spoken with a professional is indeed how I feel and yes, I have not spoken with a clinician or practitioner yet either. the experience to get there is horrifying if the service getting to Help is bad I can imagine how much help is offered.

My therapist was absolutely wonderful. He helped through a difficult time that no counselor ever has. Sondermind, the company was the worst. Sondermind is the definition of diabolical. I last saw my therapist in March, 2026. Since that time, they continue charging me. My therapist provided proof that he cancelled all future appointments. They still keep charging me. Pay cash if you can, do not give them any credit information.

SonderMind has good therapists and psychiatrists, but their customer service is terrible, and their billing department is very disorganized. My daughter has been a client for more than a year. Despite that, they made a mistake with her insurance information and then charged my credit card $194. Now they are telling me that I need to contact the insurance company and resolve the issue myself, as if I can submit an insurance claim on their behalf. This situation is frustrating because the billing error was caused by their mistake, yet they are placing the responsibility on me to correct it. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and support from their billing department. In addition, they frequently experience technical issues during therapy sessions. There have been many occasions when appointments were disrupted by problems with their platform, making it difficult to have a smooth and productive session. These recurring technical problems add unnecessary stress and frustration for both patients and families.
