Stay away from the Bank of Georgia and from Georgia in general! Georgia invites startups to set up operations there, offering a special tax track (VPZ) for non-residents. But after you arrive, incorporate a company, and pay for accountants, lawyers, and fees, you need to open a bank account—and that’s where the corruption kicks in. At first, I was told the bank refused because they didn't understand the company's software startup model. The second time, I was told they were refusing based on bank policy—at their sole discretion. And the third time, it became clear what was really needed: "greasing the wheels" for the clerk—meaning paying a bribe of 500 Lari (the local currency). So, I am telling all entrepreneurs—wherever you are, and anyone considering setting up a company in Georgia—run away! It is a corrupt, rotten country that wasted three months of my time and caused me additional expenses and losses. Unfortunately still hold an account. The service is horrible, not from the front desk but the backroom is horrendous. Any incoming transfer I have had would take weeks to arrive and no one would notify you on the status. They request documents after 4 weeks of the transfer and then they reject it and send it back while you incur a cost. On top of this the external transfer as well was delayed and never got to the recipient and because of that I lost 800 Euros in costs because I need that deposit to move into my new rental, while I moved to a new country. THE WORST BANK I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. NO APOLOGIES, NO REAL HELP, JUST EXCUSES NON STOP. STAY AWAY.

Account blocked without explanation, false claims of attempted contact, zero resolution. My account was blocked immediately after I changed my address and password through iBank — exactly as support instructed me to do. No clear reason was given beyond vague “security reasons.” To unblock, the bank required a phone verification call. They claimed to have called me multiple times, but my carrier confirmed zero incoming calls during that period. I waited over 2 hours across multiple chat sessions, received repeated promises of a callback “within 15 minutes” — none of which were kept. Support agents were evasive, unable to explain why the account was blocked, and offered no alternative verification method. The chat was simply closed with “we’ll contact you.” To make matters worse, this is not the first time the bank has failed me — previously, funds were withdrawn from my account without 3DS verification, and the bank did nothing to investigate or return the money. Blocking a customer’s funds over a routine profile update while being unable to perform a basic callback call is unacceptable. I strongly advise against trusting this bank with your money.

Worst bank I've seen in my entire life I guess they think they are just too good to answer you anything meaningful. AVOID AT ANY COST, trust me, its better to wait another month opening account in another bank, than deal with these mentally incomplete guys.

I am giving up on this bank only days after opening the bank account. The people are incompetent mixed with a "don't care" mentality.

Terrible service. 1. I had 3ds security enabled but when my funds were stolen, they said it’s not their fault and 3ds security is not a guarantee of protection. 2. Their chat customer service is terrible. Instead of solving the problems, agents rush to end the conversation and you have to start all over again with another agent. 3. Their sms codes do not come in time and thus you cannot do any imprortant procedures. 4. Often their push notifications are also not working, disabling you from making any transactions online.
