Disappointing first experience with Kane Footwear
I was excited to try Kane Footwear for the first time, but this has turned into one of the most disappointing online shopping experiences I’ve had. From the beginning, the shipping information was inaccurate. I was provided UPS tracking that showed my package had been delivered to Albuquerque, New Mexico—even though I live in Houston, Texas. Whether Kane provided the wrong tracking number or the package was sent to the wrong address, I was left with no clear explanation. Customer service was also frustratingly slow to respond while I was trying to figure out where my order actually was. Rather than quickly correcting what appeared to be a shipping error, my order was immediately routed through the shipping insurance claims process. Since the shipping protection was automatically added to my purchase, it felt like the priority became filing an insurance claim instead of simply making things right for a first-time customer. Now, more than a week after placing my order, I’m still waiting for the claims company to approve a replacement before my shoes can even be shipped. It’s hard not to question why a customer has to wait on an insurance investigation when the problem appears to have originated with the retailer’s shipping or fulfillment process. For comparison, I placed an order with Nike four days after ordering from Kane, and those shoes arrived the very next day. Meanwhile, I still don’t have the Kane shoes I originally ordered. I wanted to become a Kane customer because I’ve heard great things about the product, but my first impression has been overshadowed by poor communication, inaccurate shipping information, and a resolution process that places the burden of waiting on the customer. I hope the shoes are worth the wait, but based on this experience alone, I would hesitate to order from Kane again or recommend them to others.
