Society of CuriositiesReviews of societyofcuriosities.com

I purchased The Search For Edus Madok’s Treasure to have something fun to do while staying at home and to support a great local business. What I received was hours of fun. The storyline was interesting. The mystery was challenging and I loved the variety of puzzles it included. I’m glad I bought a subscription. Future “adventures” will help pass the time between new escape room themes, once Kauai Escape Room opens.

Tonight I (well, wifey and I) completed the first adventure from the Society of Curiosities, Captain Madok's Treasure! This is a solid "A" project! For a freshmen adventure, I really enjoyed it! There is a fun mystery to solve, some great use of technology that actually adds to the game (as opposed to some that pull you out of the game), great physical props (this all fit in an envelope, so no trinkets, just good paper-stuff), and some really cool puzzles to solve. This is primarily a puzzle-type game with some deduction and seems to have a mix of puzzles that are mid-level challenging (plus/minus a few degrees), but the hint system is fantastic for when you get stuck or challenged, so you will always be able to continue at your own pace! I highly recommend this product and if you have not already purchased...run out today! It was just....fun!

It took us about 4 hours to play through the first mission with 4 people, and everyone had contributed to a breakthrough by the time we were done. We really really liked the elements being spread out between physical objects, text messages, and websites. My one note is that it helps a lot to have a printer to make copies of digital content, in case everyone doesn't have their own phone, or in case no one has anything bigger than a phone available to view content. It would be nice to have more of that content provided in the physical package, locked behind 'envelope 1, 2, 3, etc's until the player 'finds' them in the game. I'm real happy with how this turned out, and I'd love to see what the next installment looks like!

This was fantastic! They are not just game designers but excellent story tellers! You get to ride through puzzles and challenges while exploring and learning about a world you did not know was out there. Really immersive, fun and just though enough to last hours. I enjoyed it with my partner, but this is the a game you can play with friends or enjoy solo! Marc-André, Montreal, Canada

Really enjoyed this immersive home-adventure ! The quality of the intrigue and the tools they give you really makes you doubt what is fiction and what is real, and therefore, you are hooked for 2hrs +. This game is quite intricate, a lot of links to make between clues and attention to details is crucial, so if you are beginners, be prepare for quite a challenge. Excellent work S of C, looking forward for futur launches !

Super original and engaging game! Loved how it used various types of puzzles: from physical puzzles, to ones around a song or even ones you needed to search google to find clues. Completely different than anything I've ever tried and I am absolutely hooked.

It challenged our research skills and attention to detail in an immersive and unique puzzle game you can play from the comfort of your home. They really figured out how to bring the excitement of an escape room right to your home. It’s a great way to spend an evening doing something fun with the family. I can’t wait to play more of their games in the future.

This puzzle is fun and engaging. After playing their brick and mortar escape room, we were so excited to be able to try one of their puzzles in the comfort of our home. The storyline is well thought out and in depth, pulling you in and keeping you interested. The star of this game are the puzzles, which vary in type, complexity and require differing skill sets to solve. We loved it and can’t wait for the next one!
