I booked an appointment with Smith and Sons Chimney Service for their $79 dryer vent clean out. My dryer duct goes through the wall from my dryer to the outside (a very short distance). From the time my doorbell rang by the duct cleaning guy arriving, to him pulling out of my driveway was 30 min. That’s how long he was here. The approximate 4ft length sleeve that he replaced for my 8ft dryer sleeve (that Home Depot has for around $20) was $220? This is what I’m assuming because he charged my credit card $324.75 with tax. I understand a little profit needs to be made on the sleeve but a $200 profit? I think this job was extremely expensive for what it was advertised for and what was done.

Do not use this company. They came in an unmarked car, did not wear uniform, did not cover flooring around fireplace or anything else for this matter. They left the room full of soot, left a pile of ashes in the fireplace. They are an absolute scam. Horrific customer service. We should have never paid for this.

Scam. Just want to sell other services. And wanted $800 to sweep chimney.

Some guy alleging to work for this company in an unmarked truck showed up for five seconds, didn’t do any diagnostics on our pellet stove. Instead, he said the company doesn’t replace parts in the winter time and handed us a fake written quote for $8,000 to just replace the pellet stove. Jerk-offs..

This company is a total scam. Shame on me for not doing more research! I was charged $800 to clean 2 wood burning fireplaces. The two techs spent about half hour cleaning them. Very disappointed!!!

This company is a huge scam. You can’t even leave a really review on their website. Came in an unmarked vehicle, street clothes, and knowledgeable staff.

Each time I would try to schedule an appointment they would not show up. They would apologize that no one showed up then reschedule for a different time and still not show up. This happened 3 different times.

Do not call or hire this company! They are scam artists. They show up in cars not trucks and take a vacuum out of the backseat. When I asked why the person didn’t have a company truck, his reply was “ oh I was in an accident last week.“ The original quote was $69 plus $99. The worker tried to charge me $800 to clean two stoves. I got him down to $300 per stove. When he left, I checked the stove in the basement and it was not even cleaned. For $600. He totally scammed me and he insisted that I pay him the $600 in cash. The receipt he gave me was laughable. It had no name of an address or a phone number and did not even fill out my customer information on the receipt! Numerous phone calls to this company have resulted in absolutely no return on my money or the correction of the job! Total scam artists!
