Monsieur T.
Bad expérince
Hello, This experience was really bad for me. From the moment I arrived on Saturday, August 22, 2026, I had a problem with my bank card, which was a debit card, and it significantly changed the rental costs. We went from €30 to €250. I can admit fault here because I hadn’t carefully read the conditions related to the bank card. Then, I had booked a Toyota Prius, but they gave me a Peugeot 208 (these two vehicles are not in the same size category). The air conditioning didn’t work on the Peugeot 208, so the rental company replaced it. The rental company came back with a Citroen C3 (still not a Toyota Prius), which was in a questionable working condition (there was a noise coming from the engine compartment that seemed abnormal to me, and I reported it right away. The rental company assured me that everything was normal), but the air conditioning worked. My family and I left with the C3. The next day, Sunday, August 23, 2026, the vehicle displayed a warning message engine, oil pressure too low. I canceled my trip for the day and went back to the rental agency to report the issue. After a brief check by the mechanic, he told me that everything was normal and that there was no problem. We left not very reassured and continued our stay. On August 24 around 10:40 a.m., the vehicle refused to start and showed 'repair engine' on the dashboard. I immediately contacted the rental agency and explained. He asked if I could come to the office, and I told him again that the engine wouldn’t start. He sent the mechanic. Fifty minutes passed between my first call and the mechanic’s arrival. The mechanic brought me another Citroen C3 and managed to take the broken-down vehicle away. I went straight to the agency, and they told me that the fuel level wasn’t the same as when I got the car and asked me to pay the difference. I explained that the vehicle was broken down, so I couldn’t have refueled. The broken-down vehicle was given to me with 3/4 of a tank but noted as full (I wasn't paying close enough attention when receiving the vehicle). I agreed to return the replacement vehicle with a full tank to make up for it, but he told me that to close the file with the broken-down vehicle, I had to pay, and I was charged half (because when the first C3 broke down, it was half full). I paid. The replacement vehicle was in poor body condition, damaged inside (air vent flaps broken, plastics detached, all four wheels were different brands but the same size, one of the doors wouldn’t open from the outside, etc...) and I had no problems with it. When returning the vehicle on August 29, 2026, the rental company claimed the fuel level was not consistent with the delivery. I explained to him, and this time I took a photo, that the level was at that position when I picked up the vehicle. I still have a strong feeling that I got ripped off throughout the whole service from this rental company, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Stick to traditional rental companies like Hertz, Sixt, Budget, or others, and it will cost you less. Believe me. This isn't my first rental, and it's the first time I've been scammed like this. I bet too much on the price, and it ended up costing me more. Just saying... Thierry
