Dear Mary, Our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced! Many different variables can alter exactly how long the battery life will last. For example if you are listening to the product on the highest volume, you will only receive closer to 6-7 hours of playback. We highly suggest listening to the product at a medium volume level as a high level could cause hearing damage if used for several hours. We have also found that certain apps cause the Bluetooth® module to have a shorter battery life. Apps such as Spotify or YouTube stream music, which will drain the battery faster than an app which downloads the music / tones directly to your device. Listening to music preloaded on your device will give you the 10 hour battery life. Dear Adam, Our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced! Regarding the placement of the Bluetooth® module, the headband is meant to be worn with the Velcro opening at the back. The module is normally worn at the back of the headband, but can absolutely be moved to the front or side of the head for more comfort. If moving it to the side, please place it on the opposite side as you sleep on. Many of our customers do move the Bluetooth® module to the front of their heads as this is more comfortable, especially if they are back sleepers. Once the music being played stops for more than 45 seconds, the product will enter a power saving mode. The product will not fully turn off unless the power button is held in manually or the Bluetooth® from your device is turned off. The battery life on the Bluetooth® module is up to 10 hours and only requires 3 hours of charging to enable a full battery. We do suggest charging the product daily to ensure a fully battery for each use. We would suggest our Breeze material as it is light-weight with moisture wicking properties to help keep sweat at bay while on the go or sleeping in the warm summer months. We would also suggest White Noise Lite by TM Soft, which can be downloaded for Apple or Android devices. Many of our customers enjoy this app because you have the ability to choose from over 30 different sleep tracks, including a white noise, set a timer, make a customized play list, and it's free! Please know we have a 30 refund policy and would be more than happy to assist you with a refund for the cost of the headband excluding shipping fees. If you could please fill out the warranty form found on our site and send it in with the One Size Fits Most Black Fleece headband and receipt (in lieu of receipt, please indicate order SP28614 on your warranty form), we will process the refund upon arrival! Once the refund is processed you will be notified via email with a transaction receipt. Here is the link to the warranty page: http://www.sleepphones.com/warranty When placing the Bluetooth® module on the charging base, please make sure that it is facing down on the induction charger. This means that when you feel it as it is charging, it should be a flat surface with the three buttons pointing toward the charging base. Also, the speaker plug on the module will need to be positioned on the opposite side of the micro USB port on the charging base. When positioned correctly, you will feel a magnetic attraction between the Bluetooth® module and the charging base. You might need to move the module a bit within the headband as the fabric / hook and loop opening might be interfering with the magnets.
