Dear Rose, Our sincerest apologies for the difficulty you experienced with your SleepPhones® Wireless product! We would be more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have! We would like to provide you with clear pairing instructions, as there have been a few technological advancements made to this new model. The Bluetooth® will come with a 50% charge. When you plug the module in to charge, you will notice a red light. When the module is fully charged, there will be no light at all. The battery life on the Bluetooth® module is up to 13 hours and only requires 3 hours of charging to enable a full battery. To power on the module, hold down the middle square button until you hear an ascending 3 ring tone followed by a series of double beeps. The beeps will last for only 10 seconds, but the device will remain in pairing mode until it is paired. When the module is in pairing mode, you will notice a fast blinking red light. Next, go into the Bluetooth® settings on your device and turn on Bluetooth®. If you are pairing the product to an Android® device, please be sure to check the box to search for nearby devices and then press scan. You will then see AcousticSheep® appear, simply click on it to establish the connection. When the SleepPhones® or RunPhones® Wireless is paired with the device of your choice, you will notice that the fast blinking red light then changes to a much slower blink (to indicate that it's paired or connected). To power off the module, hold the middle square button for 5 seconds until you hear a descending 3 ring tone. When pairing to additional devices or a second device it's crucial to hold the middle, square power button down until you hear the ascending 3 ring tone followed by the continuous beeping. You may need to temporarily disable Bluetooth® on first device you paired to, since the SleepPhones® or RunPhones® Wireless is designed to pair with the last device it was paired to. It is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. We would be happy to exchange the headband for a different size! If you could please fill out the warranty form found on our site and send it in with your headband, we will send you a new headband to insert your speakers into! Dear James, First, when you tried the product were the speakers placed directly over your ears? All of our products come with speakers that are removable, so they can easily be positioned within the headband to line up over your ears. While wearing the SleepPhones® headband, please gently push the speakers around until they are situated on your ears. Please make sure that you are lining up the speakers and not the felt connector that keeps the wires together. Second, is there a case on the device that you are using with the SleepPhones®? We have found that some cases do not allow the audio jack to be inserted all the way, which can cause one of the speakers not to function properly. Third, please make sure that your phone is updated and running on the most current operating system. We have a one year warranty on all of our products and would be more than happy to replace any components for you! It is 95% polyester and 5% spandex. We do offer a one year warranty on all of our products and would be more than happy to exchange the headband for you. Here is the link to the warranty page: http://www.sleepphones.com/warranty In regards to the product drowning out noise, the SleepPhones® products were constructed to minimize ambient noises. If you listen to music, you can camouflage outside sounds such as snoring. However, the product does not have any external equipment to eliminate noise.
