I am currently unable to access my account because I am not receiving the verification code required to log in. This prevents me from managing my account, removing my payment method, or resolving the issue myself. After declining a booking request and the conversation being moved to the archive, I continue to receive charges for delayed responses.

We're sorry you can't access your account right now because the login code isn't reaching you. We want to answer each point.
For the login code, please check Spam, Junk and other filtered folders, the storage space of your mailbox, and messages from [email protected]. Then write to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account, so the team can help you get back in and remove your payment method.
Declining a booking request is fine, and moving a conversation to the archive does not create a payment. Adding or saving a card charges nothing: a payment happens only when you choose a plan and press the pay button that shows the amount, and every movement on your Sittsy balance is listed in the app with its reason.
You don't need to pay anything to delete your account. In the app, go to Settings, then Manage account, then Delete my account. An account that never pays is deleted automatically within 30 days; by law some data must be kept for a while.

Came here to write a bad review because…
Came here to write a bad review because Sittsy charged me 29€ without me giving any permission and without giving any indication of charge they charged my bank account and then saw that it happened to so many others already. I guess Im never seeing that money again. Please never use Sittsy, tell everyone you know.

We understand why an unexpected payment would be concerning. We want to clarify how sitter activation and payments work.
The paid activation requirement is disclosed before downloading Sittsy. On the App Store and Google Play pages, the screenshot states: "To join Sittsy, every sitter pays a joining fee, verifies their ID, and passes our quality checks." Adding or saving a card charges nothing. A payment happens only when a user chooses a plan and presses the button showing the amount, such as «Pay 29€».
The activation amount is not the same for every sitter: it depends on the region and local demand and can differ between sitters. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription or recurring charge.
After every payment, the sitter receives an email with two PDF files: the invoice and a copy of the payment screen they authorised, showing the plan, amount and button pressed. The bank may also request its own check, such as an SMS code, 3-D Secure, banking-app approval or biometrics. Sittsy’s payment provider can request this check from the bank, but the bank decides whether it is required.
Activation is used to begin identity verification, quality and safety checks and profile review. These safeguards matter because pet owners trust sitters with their pets and, for some services, their homes and keys. Activation does not guarantee an immediate booking; owners decide which sitters to contact or book.
For any question about your account, you can write to [email protected].

I downloaded Sittsy wanting to work as a pet sitter. During sign-up, I accepted the Terms & Conditions — and immediately, without any payment confirmation screen or breakdown of what I was paying for, €75 was charged to my card via Google Play.
No summary page. No "you are about to be charged." Nothing.
I requested a refund the same day. No reply. My bank declined the chargeback. Revolut flagged it. Sittsy's support is fully automated — I couldn't reach a human no matter how many times I asked.
This is not how a legitimate platform operates. In the EU, you are legally required to show a payment summary before processing a charge. They did not. I am now filing a complaint with the Italian Antitrust Authority (AGCM).
If you're in Europe and thinking about using this app — be very careful.
UPDATE – 19 September 2026
Six months after my original complaint, Sittsy has now responded asking for additional information because, according to them, they cannot find my account.
Of course they cannot find it — I closed the account after this incident. However, I provided my details at the time, contacted support repeatedly, and sent multiple emails regarding the €75 charge. Sittsy should check their own records and correspondence before asking me to provide information that they should already have.
There is also an important part of the story that I could not leave out: after I posted my review, I received a communication from Sittsy's lawyer asking me to remove the Google Play review. I was warned that, if I did not remove it, I could be charged €50 per day for as long as the review remained online, as well as being pursued for additional damages. As a result, I felt I had no realistic choice but to remove my original review.
So, to be clear: €75 was charged to me, I did not receive the service I believed I was signing up for, I requested a refund, and I was unable to resolve the matter through customer support. I then removed my review following the legal threat.
And now, six months later, Sittsy is asking me for more information because they cannot locate my account?
You have my previous correspondence. Please check your own records and the emails I sent before asking me to reconstruct the history of an account that I closed.
I am providing this update because I believe other users should have the full context of what happened.

We understand why a €75 payment without the confirmation you expected was concerning. We want to address each point clearly.
The paid activation requirement is disclosed before download. On the App Store and Google Play pages, the screenshot states: “To join Sittsy, every sitter pays a joining fee, verifies their ID, and passes our quality checks.” Before paying, the screen shows the amount and the user must choose a plan and press «Pay €75». Adding or saving a card charges nothing by itself.
The €75 amount is not the same for every pet sitter. It depends on the region and local demand and can differ between sitters. Activation is a one-time payment, not a subscription or a recurring charge. It is used to begin identity verification, quality and safety checks and profile review. These checks matter because owners trust pet sitters with their pets and, for some services, their home and keys.
A payment happens only when the user presses the payment button showing the amount. After every payment, the pet sitter receives an email with two PDF files: the invoice and a copy of the payment screen they authorised, showing the plan, amount and button pressed. The bank may also request its own check, such as an SMS code, 3-D Secure, banking-app approval or biometrics. Sittsy’s payment provider can request this check, but the bank decides whether it is required.
Activation does not provide a guaranteed job or immediate booking. Once active, a sitter receives access to Sittsy Academy, Profile health, the Requests tab with nearby booking requests and testimonials from past clients on the profile. Owners decide which sitters to contact or book, so timing depends on demand, availability and the profile.
Regarding the refund request, the Money Back Promise is conditional. A sitter who chose a plan with the Promise and meets all its conditions can receive the deposit back if no owner books them during their first 30 days on Sittsy. The conditions include applying to at least 80% of received requests, replying to every request within 24 hours, keeping the calendar open for at least 24 of those 30 days, having five approved testimonials and keeping the profile complete. There is no refund during those 30 days. If the chosen plan did not include the Money Back Promise, it is final and non-refundable, as the payment screen states before paying. For sitters in the EU, EEA and UK, before paying the screen states: “By tapping «Pay €75», you request immediate activation of your account and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal.”
We cannot verify the private communications described in this review from public information. Sittsy does not condition a refund, support or account access on removing or changing a review. An account can be deleted in the app through Settings, Manage account and Delete my account, even before paying; an account that never pays is deleted automatically within 30 days, although some data must be retained for a period where required by law.
