This is a review for Jon McKeever. He's lazy. He uses Melissa to do the hard labor and goes on vacation frequently. His trade alerts are not transparent. He does not share a chart that shows his hypothesis, why he entered and where he will exit. I believe that Simpler keeps him because he talks a good talk about his useless level indicators/levels and these produce revenue. There are better instructors and rooms at Simpler Trading. With Jon at the helm of this one, it's at the bottom of the barrel.
Response from Simpler TradingNov 19, 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Jon’s teaching style emphasizes structure, repeatable process, and clarity in the methodology behind every trade. His indicators and levels are the product of years of development and have helped many traders build confidence and consistency in their own strategies. Transparency is central to the Tr3ndy room’s approach, and trades are shared and managed in real time so members can follow along and learn the reasoning behind each decision.
We appreciate your feedback and remain committed to providing members with the best possible education, mentorship, and trading experience.

Small Lot Program Review
Small Lot Program Review - My Experience (Jan 2025)
Program Details and Promises
I joined John Carter's Small Lot program at the end of January 2025. The program was marketed with specific goals, including Carter's stated objective that "in my small account, the goal is consistent growth." Additionally, the program promoted that "John's goal is to double his account by February 1, 2026." The marketing materials featured claims that John's daughter "grew the account with this laid back type of trading by 108.29% in 3.5 months" and suggested that participants could scale this approach, stating "I did some of these trades in my bigger account, so you know, it could be a 110,000 to 220,000 dollar account."
Worth mentioning that The Small Lot program is one of the more expensive offerings from Simpler Trading, priced at $3,000 USD per year.
Performance Results
As of June 9, 2025, the official trade tracker shows a loss of 25%. However, when factoring in the 4 currently open positions, the actual loss stands at 38%.
Personal Investment and Outcome
I committed $100,000 (a very substantial sum of money for myself, out of our savings) to this program with the intention of fully engaging with the strategy. I dedicated significant time and energy to following the trades exactly as directed. After approximately 5 months of participation, I have experienced a loss of $38,000.
Program Execution and Support
I understand that options trading carries inherent risks, and I acknowledge that every trade executed was ultimately my own decision. The program was presented with the concept that participants could "earn while you learn" by following John's trades. Unfortunately, this outcome did not materialize in my experience. During the first couple of months after joining, John was largely unavailable for questions and proper trade management guidance. This availability improved after he completed the acquisition of Simpler Trading and is a lot better nowadays.
Personal Impact and Decision
The financial losses from this program have created strain in my personal relationships, particularly with my spouse, due to the very significant amount lost and the drawdown to our savings account. The program marketing included the statement: "Everyone says to trade money that you can afford to lose but the truth is trading a small account sometimes means trading all you've got and it would hurt to lose it." This proved to be exactly what happened to me, as I engaged a significant portion of my capital and followed John's trades precisely. Rather than achieving the promised "consistent growth," I experienced substantial losses, which is why this situation came between me and my wife. As a result, I have decided to discontinue my participation in the program and cease options trading activities.
Factual Disclosure
This review is based on my personal experience and documented (both mine and John’s) performance results. I am not providing financial advice nor attempting to disparage anyone personally. However, I believe that individuals considering this program should be aware of these factual outcomes that I experienced during my participation.
*Program:* Small Lot Trading Program
*Duration:* January 2025 - June 2025
*Investment:* $100,000
*Documented Loss:* $38,000 (38% of capital)
*Official Tracker Loss:* 25% (not including open positions)
06/24/25 UPDATE following Simpler's Response below
I find it intriguing that Simpler actually wrote a good response and that a couple of hours later it was taken off and this one below has become the official response, so to help future potential participants fully understand the picture, allow me to add a few points:
1. When you say I was "following multiple traders and trades" - I followed the Small Lot Room trades to the tee until the day I left the program but also joined another Simpler Trading program on a trial basis some 3 weeks prior to leaving completely. The trial program was with Raghee's Mastery course and this was at the Simpler Trading's Content Manager's advice.
2. I could also add that Raghee's program was in the black and actually helped make up for some of the Small Lot losses however at your advice, I left that program to try and solely focus on the Small Lot.
3. My 38% loss indeed reflects a moment in time - the moment I decided enough is enough. I'm happy you say the loss is now "only" 12%, however I still fail to see where the "consistent growth is", where the "Earn while you learn" comes in and why anyone would need to take such a substantial drawdown, before even making a dime in the program. And that's without taking into consideration that the program itself is the most expensive one Simpler has to offer.
The people at Simpler are great, the program needs tuning.
Response from Simpler TradingJun 23, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Small Lot Trading Program. We appreciate the time and thought you put into your review, and we’d like to provide additional context to clarify a few important points for future participants considering this program.
First and foremost, the program is designed with a clear intention: to teach a consistent, longer-term trading process that emphasizes lifestyle balance—not constant screen time—and responsible risk management. Our mentors consistently coach members on these principles, including only risking what you can afford to lose, managing trades based on technical signals (e.g., closes below the 21 EMA), and not relying solely on one person’s alerts.
In this case, our team had numerous direct coaching interactions, providing support and responding to every request along the way. However, it became clear that you were simultaneously following multiple traders and trades—some not even led by our moderators—which diluted the clarity and consistency the Small Lot Program was built to provide. Several trade management steps were also missed, including exiting positions prematurely that ultimately closed for a profit shortly after.
You mentioned a 38% loss, but this figure reflected a moment-in-time snapshot that did not account for the actual close of those trades. At the time of your cancellation, the program was tracking a 25% drawdown (including open trades). As of today, the account is currently down approximately 12%, thanks to strategic exits that followed shortly after.
We also want to acknowledge the personal pressure you shared. Trading is highly psychological, and when someone is trading with capital they cannot emotionally or financially afford to lose, it becomes extremely difficult to make sound decisions—even with good tools and guidance. Our team routinely emphasizes position sizing and capital preservation, and we’ll continue to reinforce this.
We sincerely appreciate your respectful tone and wish you all the best moving forward.
Best regards,
The Simpler Trading Team

I recently tried the Moxie room
I recently tried the Moxie room with TG. So first let me tell you, his indicator is a waste of money and all it is, is a Macd at a higher time frame. So on the daily chart he plots a weekly Macd that has the stairstepping effect which honestly is a nice presentation but you can go to any reputable think script site and get the exact same thing(usethinkscript dot com). He basically trades off of a chart that has a 21 Ema and 50/200 sma. You can learn all you need by doing a one month trial and the monthly fee isn’t really worth it. If you were with him in October and November, he has put out some very good trades but anyone can make money during the trump rally. The past 2 weeks of December were not very good. Today I saw him sell an spx 25 wide put credit spread for 4.60 and he bought it back for almost max loss. So he lost atleast 4x but they don’t keep track of spx trades, most likely since he isn’t too successful. This wiped out a month or more of spx daytrades which he tries to do every day. Basically his system is all based on Macd and just has a different way to present it( via a stair stepping affect). Most timeframes plot the Macd that is 3or4 timeframes higher. That is how you get the stair stepping affect. He is a decent presenter and seems like a nice guy but when he breaks his rules especially in the spx, he loses hugely. None of his indicators showed a buy today but he said he thought the market seemed like it should go up so he sold a put credit spread.

Still losing after 3 years
Been following Raghee for 3 years. Nothing but loss.
While she is an excellent trader, she is a savant - meaning there’s more she understands by intuition than she can explain, especially when it comes to understanding time and volume, and the nuances of index/sector/stock. Singular losses overwhelm multiple good trades. Positive account value hinges on catching the quick wicks in day trading. Swing trading a disappointment.
While she is open when there are losses, what I’ve observed is (for example) four wins get destroyed by one trade down -25%. You’ll see that 1st targets are often reached only to have a breakeven stop provide meager wins unable to hold up against 1, let alone 2 bad trades.
Additionally, you’ll find it’s not easy to catch every day trade. Which should not be an issue because surely the process would be so robust such that you are able to still make money, right? Well now, for example, in June 2023, the market went straight up. Raghee‘s account was doing good. My account was nearly sitting at breakeven. You’ll find 1,000,001 tiny things to improve upon. You weren’t fast enough to place the trade once it was posted. You didn’t agree with what she did post because it seemed to violate the rules. You followed along even tho you didn’t agree with the trade.
The index sector stock evaluation is arbitrary. While I believe in Raghee can more or less crunch the math needed while looking at a series of charts, it’s not feasible to make consistent choices day and out when there’s over 100 listing to review for trend, LITS, proximity to 200 EMA, I’ve seen her make mistakes or bad recommendations by this manual methid. I’ve come up with a spreadsheet data that automates analysis, and I’ve been surprised to see that my spreadsheet makes recommendations that she would end up posting in the daytrade room however, there’s often no volume to carry aligned index/sector/stock to it’s target.
I’ve since found a volume indicator that had worked well to screen out recommendations. It tells you whether you actually have enough volume to make a trade work, more so than usual. Works great on the breach retreat and IBB regardless of index sector stock. Vscore, Vprofile, volume ledges have been unhelpful and ignored without much context of why.
Swing trading I’ve given up because every time you participates the market undergoes the significant pullback and you will wake up with gap downs of multiple trades beyond 25% usually between 50 to 75 down. Share the process is to wait until after 10 AM but usually you will see your trade down more than 50%. You will jump in at times when this will happen 4 to 5 trades in a row and leave you wondering how are you supposed to make money following this process?
I’ve been wanting to quit and move on with my life. BUT in an attempt to cancel and try getting money back, I have been recommended the trendy room with Jon and Melissa to give this one last shot. At least in this room, they have a teacher that used to be a student on Simpler Trading, which gives me hope. I really want to leave a better review for Simpler Trading. I want this to work out so I can have financial autonomy over my life. But also, I just wanna get moving on my life if this doesn’t work out willing to give this a shot because all I studied for the past few years is Raghee. May a well try a different trader. Maybe there’s a pot of good at the end of this rainbow….

The Good, Bad, Ugly.... both sides of the story...
I was with Simpler for about 1.5 years... approx.
In the nutshell, I learned a ton about how to trade options from John Carter, who I totally respect. John is without a doubt very knowledgable, and knows more about options than anyone I have encountered. Additionally, he teaches it very clearly and is by far the best options instructor I have come across hands down. However, his entries are often just plain horrible, meaning he chases and takes trades based on "theory", or what he THINKS will happen, or off an indicator instead of good solid price action fundamentals. I often wondered, "how can someone who has made so much money, and knows so much take trades like that?"
I don't expect ANY trader to not have losses. However, many of John's trades that I took were like walking out on to a frozen lake with thin ice and immediately falling in. Examples: RBLX, WDAY, IWM started a whole slew of losses. I shared the IWM trade with a friend who said "Bro, you are going long right into a head and shoulders"... and I argued with John's analysis, which was that he expected it to make new highs. That trade failed. He tried again, and it failed again.
Most of the other traders excepting Bruce, and Raghee are lacking in my opinion. The theme I heard consistently sounded like this: "it's going .... GET IT! " IE: they chase and do not understand basic price action. They are either chasing the highs or "shorting in the hole"... ie: at the lows.
Bruce is a solid trader and probably one of the best at SPX. Raghee is old school and solid. I just don't care for her style personally.
Henry sounds like he is reading in a monotone. He doesn't teach ... he reads.. He is not a good teacher in my opinion and he is very difficult to understand and he takes forever to get to the point.
He is a JC knockoff, has extremely complex analysis, and often violates basic price action/support/resistance principles.
Allison. I wonder why she is even there. The bulk of her trades are "lotto trades". If someone like Mark Minirvini heard that term coming out of the mouth of a trader who is leading students, his New York eyebrows would raise. I saw her take a trade on AMZN. All it said was "this is an earnings trade". That's it! She "bought" a put the day before earnings expiration, something John teaches NOT TO DO. I think it was about $1.00. I took a screen shot of the options chain knowing that the options would get crushed on the release. Even though the price went in her direction, that option went almost to zero. How can someone be on the Simpler staff and not know all the stuff John teaches in his earnings course?
Also, none of them understand or teach how to manage capital or risk properly. The lights went on for me when I started reading Mark Minirvini, William O'Neil and Dan Zanger.
I have taken what I learned from Mark Minirvini and William O'Neil and applied what I learned from John Carter about options and have had very good success.
Finally, no one I have encountered understands or teaches risk management like Mark Minirvini. One losing quarter in the last 30 years? That says is all.

Dear Freddie,
Thank you for sharing your feedback based on your 1.5-year experience with Simpler Trading.
We understand your frustration with some of the other traders and their trading approaches. We value diverse trading styles and opinions within our community, but we apologize if their methods did not align with your preferences or expectations.
Regarding Bruce and Raghee, we appreciate your recognition of their solid trading skills, even though their styles may not resonate with you personally. We understand that trading style preferences can vary from person to person.
Capital management and risk control are indeed essential aspects of trading, and we appreciate you highlighting the importance of these topics, as we take them very seriously. While our courses cover various aspects of trading, including technical analysis, we will strive to enhance the focus on capital management and risk principles moving forward.
Thank you for mentioning Mark Minervini, William O'Neil, and Dan Zanger as additional resources for trading knowledge. We encourage our members to explore different educational materials and strategies to further enhance their trading skills.
We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continuously improve our offerings. If you have any further suggestions or specific concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.

I have not been profitable with any of several programs, indicators, options are anything else. Sorry to say but it has all been a waste of money. Not only did I pay for the programs and indicators I also lost a lot of money following and trading them.

What a disapointment!
The Small Account Mastery (SAM) has been a real disappointment since I joined in April. Ever since July its been a game of how low can we go. Some of the biggest losers were from his short trades with no setup. We spend all of July and Oct being short while the market kept hitting new ATH's. We just sat and watched our accounts bleed then exited near max loss. I've gotten the vibe that he lost focus and interest in the SAM. He hasn't been performing well in his large account either. It's like he made his money at the start of the year and isn't interested in putting in the work to find good setups anymore. He seems very distracted lately from his kangaroos to his vacations every 2mons among other things. I am not saying he shouldn't live his life and do things he enjoys but at the end of the day he runs a business that directly affects peoples lives and it should be a priority. I've suffered a lot of losses, and this was hard earned money not profits to play with. I keep taking his trades reminding myself that he has grown the account twice before (once from 10K>30K then again from 10K>50K) thinking it can't get worse than this. I'll give him til the end of the year to show some progress otherwise I'm gone for good.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, L.M.! We’re sorry to hear that you haven't found success with our services yet. We pride ourselves on our products and strive to maintain high-quality standards.
I can assure you that John Carter cares very much about helping aspiring traders find their success. Though our services are primarily focused on education, no one is right about the market 100% of the time. That’s why we focus on teaching our members how to trade and what strategies have worked for us. With that being said, we’ve seen unprecedented market conditions this past year and it’s been tough for any trader regardless of their experience and approach.
We have tried to find your account in our system and have been unable to find it. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be happy to see if we can get you into a different mastery that may suit your trading style a little better.
Sincerely,
The Simpler Trading Team
