I have benefited greatly from Simpler Trading education, especially Charts & Coffee and some really educational free webinars (just skip the ends w/ promotional stuff). I love the Squeeze Pro and TrendSpark indicators. But this review is for Small Account Mastery. I joined late November 2022, started with 10k and am down to 5.5k, which would be lower except I skipped the last few trades which would have added an extra $600 in losses. I don’t mind losing in trading, as that is sometimes the “cost of doing business,” however, the alerts mostly went to max loss and didn’t have clean setups. The winners were few and very small. Also, I understand why the account was reset to 10k to start the year with a fresh mindset, but then in January 2022 there were over -2k in losses and the account got reset to 10k a second time in early February. JC is calling this one reset and treating this as a 10k account as if January losses never happened. The only good thing I can say is I did learn a lot about options. The majority of the setups broke basic rules, we mostly got in trades at 2ATR when the move was over and then they went to max loss. The few winners followed his old rules like get in at the 21 ema and exit at 2ATR. Also in the room, I have yet to have a question answered, I have to go to the training room and one of those traders are happy to answer questions. I learn more there than in S.A.M.

U serious? The only reason this company, or whatever they are, exist is to sell indicators. And get this, indicators that are based of off some pretty standart ones. Their trading courses are blah, just attempts to sell more indicators. Their services are pretty much Raging Bull quality now. A lot of hype and no real delivery. But I gotta give them this, they are smart in their marketing. Funny stuff is they say (and I mean that character John Carter) they mainly teach how to trade and the for that part, all they do is sell you a bunch of indicators that you should follow. JC however does not follow them. 2021 he shorted the market most of the time with no real indication, just some timing (as he calls it) bs and gut feelings. Did not end well. I pulled the plug when I was about 30% down. Good thing I did so I started, again, on my own and already recouped 20% of the capital. And yes, they claim 2021 was up but that is another bs. He started 2021 with 38k and managed to make 12k profits before resetting to 10k in May. Since may he lost half of that 10k so technically he made money, lol, but % he was down at least 30%....whereas the SPY was up 30%. Good job! Did I mention he is away 1 week every month traveling. With those subscriptions sure, he will travel, why not. And we are left with Julia...omg, don't even get me started there. I am not sure how she got into there but clearly she has no idea whatsoever. Anyways, just stay away for the goodness of your account and your money. There are far better, less expensive ways learn how to trade and be part of a successful community. And don't bug writing to JC, he never gets back. True leader!

We are told to monitor NLV as a tool to measure performance. I actually started charting NLV until it was obvious the line was going straight down. My NLV is now $1,020 from 15K and P&L on my account (891.50). That is just from Jan 1, 2022. Now we are told the spreadsheet is missing for 2021 trades. Basic Excel stuff. Another thing is they have the audacity to say they are up for the year. Pathetic to say the least!

Avoid the Small Account Mastery. Horrible. Started with $10k when he reset the account. Got down to $6k in a 9 month period into December/January. Loser after loser. Better off putting your money in an index or mutual fund instead of gambling with options. I had a lot of hope going in, but lost all faith once JC’s account got down to around the same amount of mine and then he reset it again to $10k to make up for the losses. Why not just play with what you have and start where your members are around $6k? Makes no sense and is unethical.

Third and last update. I can’t believe it, John decided to do all possible shady things to hide awful performance of SAM trades since February 2021. In May 2021 he did reset to 10,9k USD. But before he transferred money of the account, %- loss was -20% from a moment he was doing trades based on 10,9k. So, instead of leaving 8720 USD on his account, he left 10900 USD so this way he did hide first 20% losses. Nice way to hide 20% loss of the account. And as he started year 2021 with 38k balance and made 12k return before reset to 10,9k. He guaranteed to have a profit reserve of 12k for the remaining of the year. So even if he blew up new 10,9k he still could show USD-gain. It’s amazing how he talks about performance on his videos. After the first shady way to hide 20% loss, and real reset to 10,9k he grew the account about to 15k mid June. From 15k, account went to about 5k or maybe even less till the first week of January 2022. This period he describes in the video to be kinda choppy. So he says the account performance is choppy when you have lost 55-60% of the original balance or down 70% of highs 6 months ago.. WOW! I have not followed exactly anymore the service as its so crap, and do not want to spend anymore time to calculate exact trade by trade results, but imagine.. In the video he says “December 30th we got about 8,5k but then end of the year it got bit sloppy”. In the email he says “December 31 balance 5,8k.” 8,5k from 30th December to 5,8k December 31st = A bit sloppy. Amazing! He says now that he always likes to reset the account back to 10k in beginning of the new year. That's again another misleading statement. Last year he did not do it, even he had 38k. But now as he is standing with huge losses, he says he has always done it this way. This is something he never mentioned in SAM service before. It was spoken about like “when we run 10k to 20,30,40,50k then we reset. Now suddenly when is down tens of percents, he resets the account always for a new year.. But hey nice way to double your account to deposit another 5k into it and forget huge losses..! And all this is of course done to lure in new customers and make sure they will not an idea what really has happened with SAM in 2021! If they saw the real results, nobody would be joining SAM. My conclusion about John’s SAM: He tries to make huge bets, and preferably like “hero trades”, as they are good to use in marketing. If things do not work, he just hides the losses and moves on like nothing happened. If you want to become a professional trader, do not join SAM. Professional traders have setups and rules, and their goal is to make profits consistently. If you want to gamble your money, then that’s a good service. There will be years when you hit it, but one bad year will take all of it away. So join with a very small amount of money, gamble with John, and if you lose 50-70% of your account, just deposit more if you want to keep going.

I have been trading for more than 10 years on stocks with TA and want to try options. I joined Carter's option trade alert with the chat room. It has been a few months and almost all the trades go to max loss, and only a few made money and with very little %. The trades that John took almost all of them are against the TA that I trade with and therefore, he got most of them the opposite, and hence the losses. I was thinking perhaps he was right with his experience and I was wrong. No, it turns out that I am right, and by following him I keep losing. Some trades are random, in that there are no setups, he just guesses where SPX will go for example. There are traders in the chat room that keeps talking about the stocks and charts but with very little trades. It is fine if the market does not provide a trade, but there is no reason to keep talking. It seems they like to sell you things more than provide good trades.

Service is crap. John teaches a bunch of great stuff, like setup definition, risk management, sizing rules, stop loss and letting winners run. Then he proceeds to take trades with NO setup, no risk management and no stop loss. As many folks will tell you, only join his SAM room, Small Account Mastery, if you want to learn how to take huge losses on the regular. My previous reviews were deleted as being "suspicious" and the ONLY reason I'm trying again to help someone else avoid these insane losses on John's dog crap trades.

Lost over $200k following John Carter and his Small Account Mastery program from August to November 2021. Many others also experienced the same. The majority of Johns trades went to max loss. Completely destroyed my trading account. Don’t follow their trades unless you want to lose a lot of money.
