Shopper Approved rates Guest…

Shopper Approved rates Guest Reservations as 4.5 however, the BBB has pages and pages of complaints filed against Guest Reservations for repeated unethical practices. Why isn't Shopper Approved identifying these complaints on their website.

Hi Karen, Great question! The difference between Shopper Approved and the BBB is that the BBB is built as a public complaint board and allows anyone to file a complaint about any business, whereas Shopper Approved is a verified review platform which means that we attempt to collect feedback from every single customer that actually makes a purchase from a particular business. In the case of Guest Reservations, we've actively collected both good and bad reviews from over 81,692 of their actual customers over several years, which ultimately provides the most accurate overall rating. BBB on the other hand primarily collects and displays the ratings of the small percentage of customers who have had a bad experience. And when hundreds of thousands of customers buy from a particular company, this number can seem quite large, but in reality it's only a small percentage of their actual customers. The reality is that the vast majority actually have a good experience. Similar to the BBB, Trustpilot is another example of this complaint board phenomenon, which we like to call "Open Review Syndrome". If you go to Nike.com for example on Trustpilot you will see that they have a 1.7 star rating with 6,966 of those reviews being 1-star. We all know that this is completely ridiculous, but when a large number of people buy Nike shoes and apparel, this is what happens when the small percentage who do happen to have an issue find a public place to air their frustrations. We all know that Nike is an amazing company, but if you had never heard of Nike and saw their 1.7 rating on Trustpilot, you would think they were a horrible company. (BTW. Nike also has a 1.11 star rating on the BBB.) Hopefully this helps to clarify the difference between a Shopper Approved rating and a BBB or Trustpilot rating. Shopper Approved actively attempts to collect reviews from every customer of a particular brand (good or bad), whereas the BBB and Trustpilot passively allow anyone to leave a review, ultimately acting as complaint boards to a very small percentage of the overall customer base of a brand, creating a very distorted view and inaccurate representation of their true reputation.
