Total SCAM Artists and thieves
I'd give zero stars if it was an option. They are a scam and will ask for a booking fee up front. DO NOT GIVE THESE people a dime ever. They put a quote together that was median at best. I'm sure they were going lower on the boards, because nobody would take the load. I cancelled according to their contract at the time required to give them a chance. I notified the company and the broker in writing. I texted and I called. Nobody will pick up once they mark your phone number on their sucker list. Then four days later they send a booking notice with a price 600 bucks higher with some company in the vicinity of my car for pickup. Thankfully, it's gone already. I can't say enough to warn people away from these scam artists. Gypsy/Travelers most likely and you should not trust them for anything. Following up on the interaction with ShipWit: The day after posting the initial review I received a number of texts and voicemail and email from the company asking for an edit or removal of the original post. After a few exchanges via text and email, they conceded that they would refund my booking fee to my original card. Iteresting how they didn't have any records of me, but were able to sort out the refund and get in touch with me on an email I used for this effort. So yes they did refund my money. Yes they were respectful in doing so with minimal harassment. I do appreciate those facts. I also appreciate the position that these "brokers" are in to find work and follow the model that they are under. Bid low, get the booking fee and then put it on the boards....then send highly elevated offers from the truckers that would do the work with ShipWit. I wish they would simply change their model. Most people will honestly pay a booking fee when their vehicle is on the trailer with a contract. So...I'll bring my rating up based on them following through with a refund and being somewhat cheerful about it. Now to cap this off....This business is a carnival ride. There are good and bad truckers....mostly good, but the bad ones are impossible to spot at first glance. I got lucky in the end and got a good driver that was just trying to make ends meet and take care of his kids. Thanks Alex for a good job and God Bless your family. He finished the job, leaving his home the day following a death in the family...Johnathan Reyes was my broker and put the thing together for a hundred bucks AFTER the car was on the trailer. I wasn't panicking after my driver got rerouted to a location twice the distance from my location, but did some searching to see where all the players were attached. It's truly mind-boggling. The owner of the brokerage is in LA and has a small office space to show an address. The broker is working off the East coast and sells cars by day and brokers truck loads by night. The Driver works for a company owned out of AL and makes home in TX. and his load coordinator is in FL and TX selling realestate and any number of other jobs. Everyone is working harder than the average joe and has at least one side hustle....except for the driver who just has his foot in the pedal and may or may not be spending "Daddy Time" on the road because it's his week with the kids. At the end of the day......Don't give anyone money till your vehicle is loaded. Don't be afraid to trust somebody that doesn't fit the picture of a babysitter for your kids...You can't judge a book by the cover. Do research the broker's company here on trust pilot and reddit. Do look for an insurance document with the truck and driver listed before they haul your car off. Do talk on the phone with folks. If possible, a facetime or zoom...etc. would be better. Be careful and don't be stupid. This is not a new endeavor and happens everyday thousands of times.
Response from ShipWitJul 7, 2026
We do not have any record of this person's account of events. We have asked for help from TrustPilot in reaching them because we cannot get a response or confirmation of anything. Our company has a FULL REFUND policy. This means if the order is cancelled, we issue the refund. Banks can take 3-5 business days, especially during the Holidays, to reflect it. Thank you.
