Shine BathroomReviews of shinebathroom.com

The shine bathroom assistant is a very useful tool. I love that my toilet can get cleaned in a safe manner without human interaction or using harmful chemicals and is safe for our septic system. The set up is very simple and instructions are clear and the app is very user friendly. We are in our first week using it but so far it is working on its own and doing the cleaning as expected. The solution is odorless so no overpowering perfumes or parabens, which makes me happy. I gave it 4 stars due to the charger cable not being included, despite having ordered it via Shine a year ago. I have many type A USB cords but this requires a type C. I am happy to have received my unit after a long wait due to Covid but it is ready to stop working due to no battery power. The unit arrived with only 15% battery. I am making the most of it in the meantime. I reached out to Shine and they have been very responsive to my queries. This is a great little unit and it has found a great home in New-Brunswick Canada.

So far so good. Setup was straight forward. But make sure to have a USBC cable handy since the Shine probably be less then half charged. One thing I can suggest is that Shine isn’t a miracle worker. If you clean your toilet prior to installing Shine, your toilet will stay cleaner longer. We no longer have water stains around the bowl. I have only used shine for a month but the bowl is definitely staying clean. The App has some work to do, it would be nice to see a charging status in the app. But important info is still there. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Shine….

Excellent product - worked as described. Only issue is the tubing from the unit to the toilet bowl became a chew toy for my cat, resulting in multiple replacement tubes. Recommend mounting the unit if you have curious pets.

Overall, a good product. I’ve had a few glitches that were quickly addressed by the support team, and it lacks a 5 star review due to missing promised features (such as Alexa integration). I’m told this is definitely in development. 5+ stars, however, for the helpful and available support team.

A toilet cleaner that works! Despite there's a long way ahead of improving the cleaner and the app that controls it, it actually works and automatically cleans the toilet bowl! I'm glad I don't need to waste my time cleaning it anymore!

Pretty easy setup overall and product does work as intended! Once the software quirks get ironed out, the data should be more accurate and the UI will run a bit more smoothly, I'd imagine. I'd love to see Alexa support soon, along with a manual clean cycle I can give my Shine to run on its own, and even a scented cleaning spray would be very welcome!

I ordered a Shine unit when they were offered on Kickstarter. I finally received my unit and installed it following the provided directions. Setup was easy. Connecting it to my WiFi took a couple of tries before it successfully connected to my home network. Once connected, I was able to create my first batch of electrolyzed water. Depending upon the content of the “bowl”, the unit did a pretty respectable job of cleaning. The app was initially pretty buggy, and a few features didn’t work out of the gate. Over time, the app had been updated, with bugs fixed and workflows updated. It still has a ways to go with a couple of the workflows. Customer service has been been responsive and emails regarding issues have been addressed. Currently, I use two pods when making a new batch of cleaning solution. The device performs better with two pods. Next “brew” will be three pods to see if the cleaning gets better. It would be nice if each pod were stronger so fewer pods were required to get a good cleaning. The toilet the unit is connected to also has a bidet seat. Because of that, the spray head couldn’t be installed on the back rim. 😟 I had a service interruption from my internet provider one day, and service was restored, the Shine unit failed to reconnect. To recover, I had to uninstall the unit from the app and reinstall it. A few weeks later, and after an app update, service was again interrupted, but this time when service was restored the unit reconnected correctly. Spray coverage needs to be addressed so it covers the whole bowl, especially the back of the bowl. Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I recommend to others? Yes.

Easy installation of equipment, no tools required. App was easy to install on iPhone. I wish it came with a charger cable but they are inexpensive to purchase. Runs very well and is keeping my bowl fairly clean. Taking a little adjustment to find the right amount of cleaning pods to use and the spray duration but it's very easy to manage.
