Shemmassian Academic Consulting was great for MCAT prep. My tutor was able to figure out the type of questions I struggled with and teach me a better way of approaching them. I went into the test feeling so much more confident than the first time and saw a 10 point increase. I would definitely recommend!

A friend asked me to mentor his son who was applying to medical school for admission in the fall of 2021. Although the young man had used another MCAT test preparation service, we knew that to be competitive his secondary essays and interviews would be crucial (especially during COVID). We turned to Dr. Shirag Shemmassian and his team. Shirag, Alexa Watkins and their colleagues were extremely helpful and responsive in answering questions even before we signed up for specific services. The free online guides were invaluable in mapping out the process. Once the essay review process was underway, I was particularly impressed by how quickly and with what great detail the consultant Shemmassian assigned to us provided written comments on the draft essays. The consultant also captured the applicant's voice and refined the essays so they were clear and compelling for medical school admissions committees, tailoring them to each of the schools. I was paired with Matt Wickersham, who did an excellent job in preparing me for questions that later came up in my actual interviews! The mock interview was a great way to quell my nerves and polish the story that I wanted to get across to admissions committees. I highly recommend their consulting!

We asked to cancel within a few days of signing up and even before a first meeting with the assigned consultant.
