Once my device was received by Sell that Cell, I got a text message explaining my device prognosis. They were only able to use the gifted device for parts, unbeknownst to me. My payment was changed to a different amount and agreed upon. I was even given a few extra dollars for being a first time customer. The tech that handled my device always confirmed with me before an action was taken.
