ZERO STARS I worked a job for short time - Securian somehow was handling my 401(k) - Seems all that money is in an annuity or something that returns less than a money market account. So this account is losing about 11 dollars a month in "fees". Not much money to start with and it is disappearing fast. Tried getting what was left of the money out - They replied "We'll be in touch soon" only they just never got back to me. I do not really care - just be warned and stay away from these leeches. Account will go to zero soon. Geeze what sleaze.

I submitted a claim for a "small" policy my Mom had. Each kid kidding about $4k, nothing really, in scheme of things. I've sent everything I needed to, 2X or more. I emailed them 4x asking, "is there something else missing"? Do you need anything else? No replies, nothing! Crickets- it's been two weeks, and still nada. I've asked for calls, emails. Anything! Never a reply.

good for nothing no one knows there what they are doing and that is trying to buy insurance from them thru BMO imagine when you have a claim thank god i backed off before it is too late

Terrible process for reporting death claims. This company does nothing but delay and deflect. The information they have in their black box system is not consistent with what they provide to their policyholders. If you have a voice in your company and you have their benefits, you should be begging HR to get a different service provider!

I paid thru Minnesota life since 2022 , i decided to call to cancel First Lady I spoke with was helpful and got the form I needed I then received an email to pay again so I called to make sure everything was cancelled the 2nd lady ask all the security question came down to my beneficiary I told her the name she then proceeded to tell me that’s not the name on my profile I said come again that is the name , and went back and forth. I have the completed forms in my hand of the original document I signed in 2022 . Then asked for the name of the agent who completed my form I told her the name and she said no that’s not the person either. I’m totally confused here . I said if I were to have die like my husband would be going thru hell . Glad I’m canceling I told her I need to speak to some one else I just want to make sure my policy is canceled she hung up on me . I called back spoke to a 3rd lady she was nice and said not to worry it’s cleared it should take about few days to complete .

This would be a good benefit if u are told the truth in the first place all these loan offices telling people this will pay off ur loan and give you the rest to take care of other people I was told 10,000 dollars would be placed in my hand if I got hurt sick or died they barely want to even make a payment been paying on this plan for 2yrs or longer expecting some kind of help well they made a payment thats all they did not pay off my loan did not put money back in my pocket for sure so thanks regional for not knowing what you are talking about I have 5 kids to feed and clothe so ignorant to lie to someone just so u company can make another dollar now I stand losing my home and my wifes car what real help dont waste ur time with this loan company its a joke id rather give a bum on the street money for protection atleast he would probaly help thanks again securian and regional finance

I am an advisor and worked for Minnesota Life/Securian for 25 years. I’m still in the business but not with Minnesota Life. Minnesota life used to be a mutual company before they became a mutual holding company. They sold their disability book, assets under management book and variable life book which may be cause for concern. They used to be a great company with a reputation of doing the right thing. During my career I sold my mom three policies, NY Life Protective life and Minnesota Life. She passed away this past March. NY and Protective paid the death claim within 48 hrs. It’s been three and a half months and our Minnesota Life claim has yet to pay. My sister, brother and I have submitted five Seperate claim forms to a servicing company called EXL Services. Each time we completed the claim form it was incorrect. It took EXL Services five days before they reviewed the claim form and then, they notified us via US mail which took another seven days before we were notified that the claim form was completed incorrectly. On the claim form they requested and we completed the section where it asked for our email but EXL insisted on using US mail. This doesn’t count the countless hours on the phone trying to get an answer on what part of the claim form was completed incorrectly. Once I found out, the claim form was completed correctly and hopefully we’ll get the death claim paid but, I’m not holding my breath. In my 25 years with Minnesota Life I almost sold their products exclusively and placed millions of dollars in life insurance. Now, I’m going to make it my life’s mission to replace all the Minnesota Life policies I wrote with them. It’s also worth noting I know, Securian CEO, Chris Hilger and sent him an email explaining my situation and I never heard from him or his office. I also emailed the CEO of EXL Services, also, no response. It is with a great deal of sadness and deep regret but I highly recommend everyone stay away from Securian/Minnesota Life. There are plenty of great companies out there without having to resort to dealing with a poorly run company.

You're customer service rep Troy was condescending, rude and very unhelpful. We talked to 4 different people at the bank they told me to get ahold of securian, we did ,Troy said call your bank back. We would NEVER recommend this service . It's so hard to have them pay a measly $45 for 3 months ,wow. Definitely not worth the money we put in just to have them NOT want to make the payment. Terrible.
