I booked a rockstar suite through JC for over $8000 and never heard from the guy except for 1 automated email about booking dining reservations MYSELF 60 days before sailing. Rockstars can book 120 days before. He also said there would be extra loot for booking through him, and i dont see any loot. Looks like he has scammed others the same way.
I also called him to book a cruise in Jan 2027 and he quoted me a price that was ~$1000 more than booking with virgin directly, so we did not book with him again.
For this upcoming cruise, they stand to make over $1000 in commission did literally nothing for it. I would avoid booking with this company and had a much more enjoyable experience talking with the first mate team at VVinsider

Extremely disappointing experience with…
Extremely disappointing experience with Jason Carter (JC) Unreliable!!
Jason Carter, also known as “JC,” is “presented” as one of Virgin Voyages’ top First Mates. Unfortunately, my experience with him has been the complete opposite of what I would expect from a travel professional entrusted with managing customers’ vacations.
The biggest problem has consistently been communication and responsiveness. There have been significant delays in getting responses to emails and requests, and it has repeatedly felt like I have had to chase him down just to get basic assistance with my booking.
Most recently, I was waiting for him to address an issue with my reservation.
JC told me that he was waiting for Virgin Voyages to respond. Because my reservation was assigned to him as my travel agent, I was unable to simply make the requested adjustment myself.
So I contacted Virgin Voyages directly to find out what was going on. Within approximately 10–15 minutes, Virgin explained that they could address the issue immediately, but because the reservation was assigned to a travel agent, they could not make the adjustment themselves without the travel agent handling it.
That was extremely frustrating because I had been sitting around waiting while being told that JC was waiting on Virgin….
Lo and behold, I follow him on social media, and he was on yet another cruise too busy doing what makes him happy off of everyone else’s dime to respond to his customers’ emails.
After speaking directly with Virgin and learning that the issue could have been addressed immediately from their end if the proper authorization had been provided, I was left feeling that I had not been given an accurate picture of what was actually happening.
And unfortunately, this isn’t the first issue I’ve experienced.
On our first voyage booked through JC, he entered both of our full names incorrectly on the reservation. We caught the errors, but that is an incredibly serious mistake when you’re dealing with passenger information and an international vacation. If we hadn’t noticed, I don’t even want to think about what problems that could potentially have caused at check-in or during travel.
What makes the lack of responsiveness particularly frustrating is seeing JC constantly posting about being on cruises and enjoying the travel-agent lifestyle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the perks of the industry, but when your customers are waiting for answers about their actual reservations, it gives a very poor impression when you seem to have plenty of time for cruises, dining, drinking and socializing but seemingly very little time to respond to customers.
I’ve worked with several travel agents, and JC has by far been the worst experience I’ve had. The onboard credit or small perks aren’t worth much if you can’t depend on your travel agent to communicate with you and properly manage your reservation.
I originally wanted to build a long-term relationship with a Virgin Voyages “first mate” and potentially become a lifelong customer. Unfortunately, experiences like this make me question whether I want to continue booking through JC.
My advice to anyone considering using him: don’t choose a travel agent based solely on a small onboard credit or perk.
Choose someone who will actually be responsive when you need them. A $50 or $200 incentive isn’t worth much if you can’t get your travel agent to respond when something important needs to be handled.

Looks like I'm on the minority here
Looks like I'm on the minority here, but here goes. Booked through JC because was told could usually get sailor loot for most sailings/cabin types. Got on the ship and didn't see any OBC but thought I'd give it 24 hours before reaching out. The next morning sent an email to just inquire if there was supposed to be any loot. If not I'm fine by that, however what transpired for the remainder of my trip was not what I expected from a top first mate. No response to my email inquiry, then on day 3 sent a text. No response, so on day 4 sent another text just to verify if my messages were being received. Finally a response!... "you didn't book through me" seemed strange as all email communication received from VV had his name as my first mate. Sent screen shots of this immediately as well as went directly to sailor services on board to verify if my reservation was linked to an agent. Immediately Virgin confirmed he was my first mate. Messages going forward were about how he couldn't see my booking and would investigate why that was. Original issue never addressed and communication went dark after day 6. Still haven't heard anything, not that it matters a month after my sailing. Unfortunately have two more sailings booked through his link, not expecting much for these too.
