I read another review on here for someone that rented a property hosted by Search A Stay in Miami, FL and just by reading it I know 100% that it is the same house we rented. We rented the property through VRBO and the house was managed by Serach A Stay. The house is in the design district on 45th St. in Miami. The pictures look amazing, like a nice clean house with palm trees all in the yard and even a private pool. And for $970 a night you would think it's legit. The same house is on Airbnb for much less per night and lists more details about the listing than on VRBO, but hosted my another company. We paid ver 5K for 4nights, this would be more like a place that should charge less than $200 per night. While we were still there I got an email from VRBO saying that the host canceled my reservation, yet we had 2 more nights. I reached out to the host and they said no worries it was a mistake. Now I realize what the scam is, now that my stay has been canceled I can not leave a review and they know I would be leaving a bad one because of all the issues we were having. Now they can keep renting and people think they get this amazing property, because there are zero reviews to go on, when in fact they are getting a dump. 1. The pool had not been cleaned in weeks, full of debris at the bottom and leaves, the water was so low the filter could not run. My husband became the pool boy, so he filled it with the hose and started to try and clean it, he had to do some rigging on the filter and hosing as something was broken. The real "pool guy" came by after we notified the manager and he just added some chemicals, but we did all the work getting it clean. The last day of our 4night stay the kids got to swim. And it is a small oval pool and about 3.5ft deep, the picture makes it look bigger. 2. The interior of the house was dumpy, all the walls and doors are SUPER dirty and dingy. The bathrooms look modern in the pictures but the updates in construction are poor with patches of caulk and dirty seams. The sink in one looks terrible. The shower knob in one shower fell off. 3. Floors, all the laminate floors were dirty, we are families that remove shoes inside and soon after check in we all have black feet. You could just feel the grim under your feet. We asked the management to come and clean it but no one came. 4. Yard was overgrown in back and front, they could have mowed and done some trimming before we came. Exterior is like a stucco and all black in the back. Can't they take a power washer to it? Roadside trash bin and recycle bin already full when we arrived, so we had to leave all trash in the kitchen when we left. 5.Kitchen and bath-no dishwasher powder, no kitchen towels, no pot holders, no extra trash bags. Bathrooms did not have hand towels either and a slim bar of crappy hotel soap. We went out and bought liquid soap bottles for the bathrooms/kitchen and rolls of paper towels, my friend happened to have some dishwasher packs in her bag. Dishwasher racks are rusty and have black all over them, not sure if that is mold or what. They only provided 6 bath towels and we were 8 people and no extra sheets for the futons. A lady did drop off a bag with extra sheets and 2 towels after I notified the manager. They did not mentioned any of this in the listing. The furniture is different than what shows in the pictures. I will not use VRBO again or Search a Stay to rent in the future.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My family and I booked an apartment in NYC through VRBO. The pandemic hit and we had to postpone until September, 2021, which was fine. Two months before we were due to travel, we were told our reservation was canceled. We’ve been trying to get our money back since then, and have still not gotten it. It’s gotten to the point where our calls and e-mails are going unanswered. Horrible, horrible experience.

I booked a Searchastay property through VRBO. I tried to get in contact with the property manager to ask a question for weeks to no avail. Their phone number does not work. Then several weeks after I booked I noticed that Searchastay DELETED the property listing off VRBO so I started to panic. It still showed I had a reservation but I couldn’t view any of the property photos/details anymore. Finally 13 days before my trip they responded to my email telling me my reservation was cancelled after it had already been confirmed. I was supposed to stay at one of their listings in NYC for two months. I had booked my flight, made travel arrangements, and subleased my own apartment in Los Angeles. They then saw how desperate I was and tried to get me to book a new listing with them outside of VRBO which I refused to do because they already screwed me over once. I am now completely without a place to live for two months. If I had not been proactive trying to contact the property manager I’m pretty sure they never would’ve even told me the listing was canceled and I would’ve shown up at check-in in New York City with no place to stay. Avoid this company at all costs.

Unreliable. Booked room via Vrbo platform for a sharestay property. Room canceled last minute. Vrbo unaccommodating despite glitchy system. Sharestay unavailable by phone to assist with issue. Unable to find another rental due to high demand/last minute/price. Had to cancel entire trip. Never doing buisness with Vrbo or Sharestay again! If your smart, you wouldn't either!

Rented a vacation home in Miami through VRBO with Search-a-Stay as managing company. After flights excursions and reservations booked for 12 people received a email saying our reservation was being canceled due to no longer doing short term rentals this was BS the property was then listed as a new listing for 4times the price. This is considered BAIT AND SWITCH! Can not believe this company represent a client that would do this as well as the company allows this to happen. DO NOT RENT from this managing company!!

Don’t even know where to start and end. 1. Pool was big disappointment. Not cleaned. As promised in email pool is cleansed only on Mon and Thursday but that’s lie as no one came to clean. Full of dirst and leaves. Water level in pool too low that cannot even use the filter. 2. Floor in house very dirty not sure when it was last cleaned or mopped. We had to go out bought buckets and mop and had to clean whole house floor. 3. All furniture in house has dust/sand on it. Not cleaned or wiped at all. We had to buy wipes and clean it. 4. Was promised will get Air mattress/roll away bed extra bedding not there as promised. On asking they said they have left it there but previous renter took it with them. Tell me to buy from Amazon and they will reimburse. Bunch of lies. 5. Trash bins are full and over flowing no place to put any new trash. 6. Front and back yard lot of tree branches in the yard......not cleaned or picked up. 7. Found 4 dead cockroaches in the house when we cleaned and mopped whole house. 8. Informed then about all these issues on day of check in and was told they are coordinating with team and will get back me and say they pay hefty fee for cleaning and is not what they like. But no one cared to call back or message back. Every single day I messaged search a stay in 5 days if our stay and everything get same reply we are coordinating with team and get back. Our trip is now done and still no one has cared to call back or message back. 9. Finally after check out req refund of security deposit and now they say refund are processed only on 5th if each month as we checked out on April 7th. Hence now have to wait until next month 5th for refund. 10. Now they are telling me to remind them on 1st of next month so they do not miss my refund. 11. Despite of reminder received only $500 refund of security deposit instead is $525. I can go on and on but bottom line is this house and searchastay management company is not trustworthy and I would not recommend to stay there even if it is for free.

I booked a rental on VRBO via Searchstay in Rosemary Beach, FL and had flights booked. VRBO and Searchastay cancelled the reservation via email to me with ZERO explanation. There are NO other rentals available at this point - VRBO and Searchastay will not return my emails and have not called me back. Do not trust Searchastay. I received a BOOKING CONFIRMATION and had to agree to a NO CANCELLATION POLICY.
