Not the service we were hoping for
We booked a luxury villa with Sealodge (via a major booking platform) for a family celebration. Unfortunately, the villa, which cost over £7000 for 10 days, was far from the luxurious retreat that we were expecting. On arrival, we found mould in several rooms, a smell of damp throughout the property and broken and dirty equipment and furnishings. Our group was then faced with a choice: should we try to make do, arrange extra cleaning and maintenance, or look for alternative accommodation at short notice. We went for the second option, for several reasons. We had children in our group and were concerned about them spending time in such a poorly maintained environment; we had little faith that the conditions could be satisfactorily improved; and we did not want the holiday to become a costly cleaning project.
The first day of our holiday was spent finding alternative accommodation, which given the last minute situation, was expensive and stressful.
Negotiating a partial refund for our stay required multiple emails - another activity not ideally associated with a holiday of a lifetime. One of the reasons given for holding back part of the sum was that the condition of the villa was due to was wear and tear that was considered normal for the humid Mauritian climate. Perhaps this is true, but then the photographs, descriptions and pricing should have reflected this.
We also had a 6 week wait for a refund for an activity that we had pre booked via Sealodge before the holiday and that was cancelled by the service provider at the last minute. Thankfully, once the right person was contacted, the refund was processed without fuss, which suggests that there shouldn't have been a problem with doing it in the first place.
Over all, sadly Sealodge did not provide the service we were hoping for on our special trip to Mauritius.

Public Warning
Public Warning: Ongoing Refund Failure — July 17th, 2026
We arrived in Mauritius after 11 hours of travelling, only to be told — on arrival — that our booked Airbnb apartment “wasn’t available.” No explanation, no alternative in the local area, nothing. We had a 2‑year‑old with us and had already driven two hours from the airport.
After pushing them, they eventually offered another apartment. They even tried to charge us more at first. Only after challenging them did they agree to match the original price, and we were forced to pay via SumUp on the spot.
The replacement property was completely unsuitable: remote, second floor, off‑road access, no shops, no restaurants, and nowhere safe or practical for a toddler. We told them immediately we couldn’t stay. They agreed to refund us.
That was now 3 months ago.
Since then, despite repeated messages, all we’ve had is stalling, vague apologies, and zero clarity on when we’ll get our money back. After the stress they caused, you’d expect them to prioritise the refund — instead, we’ve been strung along.
It is now July 17th, 2026, and we still have not received our refund.
Do not pay upfront with this company. They have shown they cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

Cockroach infested villa, fake reviews written by others
I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst Airbnb experiences we’ve had.
The villa was not presented in a clean or guest-ready condition. Throughout our stay we encountered repeated cleanliness issues, maintenance problems, broken equipment, poor housekeeping, electrical faults and multiple cockroaches inside the property. We spent a significant portion of our holiday reporting issues, coordinating cleaners and technicians, and following up on problems rather than enjoying our time away.
We were travelling with a young baby, which made the situation even more concerning. Despite raising issues promptly and repeatedly, new problems continued to arise throughout the stay. The final straw was finding another cockroach crawling around the kitchen area near our baby’s belongings.
While the management company was responsive to messages, the reality is that a holiday property should not require this level of intervention from guests. We booked a holiday, not a property management project.
Based on our experience, I would not stay here again and would strongly encourage future guests to carefully consider whether this property management company meets their expectations, particularly if travelling with children or expecting a clean, stress-free stay.
They also pay others to write fake reviews.

Give them a bad rating and they will cyberharass you and contact your employer to accuse you of being a sexual predator. Avoid at all costs. These people are dangerous.
Very bad experience with this property management company, which cancelled your Booking reservation 6 days before the trip in order to offer you alternative accommodation outside the Booking framework, in a new property with an additional financial cost.
They offer properties in a condition of cleanliness and habitability that does not match the advertised standard (Domaine Harmonia), with equipment missing from the property despite being listed in the ad.
The photos are edited and do not reflect the actual quality of the accommodation.
Following this, we were offered a token commercial gesture that was completely disproportionate to the harm suffered, subject to signing an excessive settlement agreement and a confidentiality clause.
My friends, who were not bound by this clause, posted reviews to share their experience.
As a result, they started harassing me on LinkedIn, fabricating fake exchanges in my name to accuse me of sexual harassment, and threatening to report me to my employer, whom they in fact contacted.
I was forced to disregard the confidentiality clause because the attacks against me left me no choice but to speak out in order to protect my reputation and warn future customers about similar situations.
I therefore had to urgently publish a LinkedIn post to put an end to the defamation, defend my reputation and my job, supported by screenshots of the threatening messages and intimidation.
Two complaints have been filed, an investigation will be opened, and the courts will take over to ensure that these malicious and dangerous individuals are held accountable.
They also have negative reviews removed from platforms other than Trustpilot, and keep reporting negative reviews on Trustpilot in an attempt to have them taken down. Fortunately, Trustpilot is trustworthy and rejects their unjustified reports.
________
Following the generic response posted by Sealodge Mauritius to all negative reviews about them, I confirm that I did in fact stay in a villa managed by Sealodge Mauritius.
I remain, of course, fully available to provide the Trustpilot teams with all supporting evidence relating to the facts stated in my review: threatening messages from Sealodge Mauritius, a campaign of cyberharassment and defamation, police complaints filed, etc.
