We booked this stay several months in advance through a trusted platform, which gave us a sense of security at the time. However, a few days before our scheduled arrival, we were contacted directly and informed that our original reservation could no longer be honored under the same conditions. We were then encouraged to proceed with an alternative arrangement outside the platform, which already introduced a level of discomfort. After some hesitation, we agreed, mainly because of the limited time left to make new arrangements. Unfortunately, the replacement property did not meet the expectations set by the original listing. The general condition of the property suggested a lack of proper maintenance, cleanliness was below standard, and some of the amenities listed were either unavailable or not functioning properly. Throughout this process, communication was inconsistent. We often had to follow up multiple times to receive basic updates, and some responses were usually brief and lacking in clarity. This made the entire situation more stressful than it needed to be. Although a partial compensation was eventually discussed, it did not fully reflect the inconvenience, additional costs, and time spent trying to resolve the situation. Overall, the experience highlighted the importance of keeping transactions within established platforms and dealing with providers who maintain clear and reliable communication.
