Kaplan SchweserReviews of schweser.com

I used Kaplan Schweser for CFA Level I exam preparation. I had only 3 months to study and I knew the CFA books were quite time-consuming. Kaplan did a great job of summarizing the topics into easy to digest nuggets. The question banks and mock exams were good for practice. I would recommend Kaplan to anyone under a time crunch or looking for additional practice questions and mock exams.

I though the material was well covered and explained the theoretical side of things. I think it could be better visually displayed and described in more practical scenarios.

There are some very minor inconsistencies, otherwise concise and to the point.

I’ve used Kaplan Schweser for FRM Level 1 twice, the first time I used it I failed the exam and I’m waiting for the second exam’s result and hopefully I’m passing. The second exam I used Kaplan along with Bionic Turtle, and I entered the exam with confidence. I noticed the way that Kaplan explains the financial concepts and math equations is for students with intermediate level of financial and mathematical knowledge, while Bionic Turtle explains the roots and dives deep into the concepts. Kaplan has an amazing study center that I’m sure no one in this business offers the same features, it helps the students track their performance and gives room for improvement. The Q-bank provides hundreds of questions along with explanations to further advance the understanding. Also, the dashboard gives an overview of the progress and informs you weather we need accelerate or stick to the schedule. I’ll definitely subscribe for Kaplan for the FRM level 2 and I will recommend to others. Hopefully we can see improvement and great aids to the students. Thanks

Dedicated course instructors and great reading and practice materials.

Good and understandable material

I used Schweser exclusively for level 1 and I passed. Some of the instructors on the video were pretty good, but I felt for the most part, the instructors just repeated what I read in the book as opposed to explaining the material and helping me to understand and remember the material. I do really like the question bank. You can see whether you got the answer right immediately. That being said, the links to the Schweser notes may or may not take you to the correct spot in the notes. Also, to make the questions more user friendly, they should give an option to select "theory" questions vs "calculation" questions. Sometimes if I have my phone with some time to kill, I'm pretty much stuck with ethics questions, even though there are a ton of theory type questions in the Q-bank throughout the curriculum. Generally, most people don't have a financial calculator with a pencil and paper with them when they are out and about and have a few minutes to go through a few questions.
