I recently purchased a used Bennche…
I recently purchased a used Bennche Bighorn 700 (2011) and ordered a roof kit through SC. The ordering process was fine and product shipped promptly. Upon receipt of the roof, there were no instructions on how to install as it came with 4 brackets and assorted nuts, bolts, and rubber washers. I called SC and spoke w/someone in sales who told me I’d have to purchase an owners manual as the instructions were there. I opted not to buy an owners manual and was able to deduce how these brackets needed to be installed. After removing the necessary 4 bolts from the roll cage, I began to fit the first bracket only to learn that the bolt I removed was too large for the pre-drilled hole on the bracket. I had to drill out all the brackets. After installing the brackets, I lined up the roof and marked where i needed to drill the roof mounting holes. The roof system comes with the roof, 4 brackets, and 4 sets of Phillips head bolts, four rubber washers, and four receiver type bolts that slide through the rubber washers. The holes on the brackets were ALSO too small for the bolts that were supplied with the kit. I needed a vice to drill the holes and the entire installation process has been a Total and Complete pain in the A$$!!! I mean they supply a kit that the bolts don’t even fit in the brackets they supply...no instructions...have to buy an owners manual to get the instructions...WHAT? I will say that customer service did answer the phone on a Sunday and did email me a service tech’s name & number who I was able to speak with on Monday... but sadly, did not know how to install the roof. I give them an A for ordering process, F for product support, and F for quality of mounting bracketry.
