Beware: Their “only we will contact you” promise did not match my experience. I used SaveMaxAuto because their website specifically promises a “MaxGuard™ Guarantee” that ensures only SaveMaxAuto will contact you. Their site also says “No spam.” I chose to provide my information because I relied on that representation. Instead, after submitting my information, I was contacted by approximately 10 different insurance companies/agents. I understand that an insurance comparison service may connect consumers with insurance companies. That’s not my complaint. My complaint is that SaveMaxAuto specifically marketed its service as different from other comparison sites and promised that only SaveMaxAuto would contact me. That promise was important to me when deciding whether to submit my phone number and other personal information. Based on what happened afterward, I feel that the website’s marketing was misleading. I would strongly recommend that consumers read the fine print and understand exactly what will happen to their information before submitting it. SaveMaxAuto should either honor the MaxGuard promise or stop advertising the service as one where “only we will contact you.”
