This is 100% a true story that I need on the record!! I originally paid for a COVID test with 24 hour turnaround prior to an international flight. When 24 hours passed and I didn't get my results (this was around the post-Christmas/New Year COVID surge), I called their customer service line and got no response, but was prompted to request a callback, which I did. Several hours later, as the end of the business day was nearing and I'd heard nothing, I was spiraling. My flight was the next day at like 6am and a lot of things were going to be effed if I couldn't get this test. I had decided that if I heard nothing back by ~3PM, I was going to urgently shell out the $250 for a 1-hour test and make some sort of complaint. While I was waiting and refreshing my results portal, I decided that it might be the time to pray - just to cover my bases, you know?! I'm not religious, but I was baptized Catholic, so I felt like there might be something there. I pulled up a WikiHow article for prayer to make sure I got all the steps in, clasped my hands, turned to my sister sitting next to me to tell her what I was going to do, and............. MY PHONE RANG at that exact moment. This is 100% true. It was a guy from Sameday Health calling me back. I almost passed out. And just like an angel, the guy not only agreed to expedite my original test results, but when he heard it was for travel the next day he scheduled me a FREE ONE-HOUR TEST for the same day. By the time I got to the location to take the 1-hour test, my original results had come into the portal anyway. That man literally saved my life. To this day I'm curious whether the timing of that call was Catholic God rewarding my attempt or some other god trying to stop me from doing the wrong type of prayer LOL but either way I am at least 15% more religious now than I was before that happened. So, 0 stars for getting me my results as originally advertised, but 100 stars for the angel who saved my life, so I'm averaging it to 5 because it was during the COVID surge and I'm sure that was a really difficult time for the lab. I hope that man is happy wherever he is and whatever he's doing!!! <3
