Hi Nick, Mike here, founder at Saint + Vale. I'm sorry. We got this wrong. Some honest context on where we are as a brand. The Enzo is our entry-level loafer at $72.99, and at that price the construction sits at a different level than our higher-tier pieces like the Salcombe, Tilbury, and Grosvenor. We try to be upfront about that tier difference because it matters. But entry-level doesn't mean "doesn't hold up," and when something we ship falls short of that bar, we'd rather fix it fast than argue about it. That's why you got a refund the same day, with the pieces on us. The offer of a free replacement or something from our higher-tier collection still stands whenever you want it, with no expectation of a review update either way. Hey Alex, Mike here. I saw this review sitting where it is and wanted to write to you rather than around you. When it first came in back in June, I reached out — refunded your order in full, told you to keep the Enzo, and sent you a pair of Salcombes in Grey on us so you could see what we're building at the higher tier. When they landed in Marbella, you wrote back to say they looked meaningfully better built than the Enzo, and that you'd wear them and report back. I followed up in July, twice, hoping to hear how they were holding up on the feet. Never heard back, and the review has stayed as it is.I'm not writing to argue with a star rating — you're entitled to how you felt about the Enzo, and if the Salcombes let you down on wear I'd genuinely rather know than not. I just wanted to say plainly that the door's still open on my end. If you want to share what you actually think of them now, good or bad, I'd read it. Caesar, Thank you for updating the review to share both halves of the story. The criticisms you raised on tracking, delivery, and our return process were fair, and we have implemented changes across the brand based on what you told us. On the soaked loafers, I have to be transparent with future readers: this is the first I am hearing of it. I personally wrote to you twice over the last two weeks, including a direct question about whether there was anything else we could do to make this right. You did not respond to either message, and the next thing we saw was this updated review. I would have replaced the loafers the same day had you let me know. That offer still stands. A fresh pair of our Salcombe Suede Loafer, our most premium build, on us, no questions asked. Hi Kent, Steph from Saint + Vale here. I'm sorry the boots didn't work out, and I'm sorry the resolution didn't feel right to you at the time you wrote this. For anyone reading: Kent ordered three pairs that came up too small. Rather than have customers ship items back to us — where they'd be donated rather than resold — we offered Kent three new pairs (and he could keep or donate the originals) for a $25 reshipment fee. When Kent told us he'd lost faith and wanted to be done, we issued a full refund of kr 948 the same morning, no return required. He kept the boots. That's the full story, and we stand by how we handled it. Where we genuinely fell short was a gap in follow-up between his feedback and our next reply, and that's a fair thing to own. Hi Carter, Mike here, founder of Saint + Vale. I want to respond straight rather than defensively, because parts of what you wrote are fair. On the returns experience, our policy has always been full refund minus customer-paid return shipping, and in April our returns facility was in the UK. That made international return shipping expensive for US customers, and our team was built to offer alternatives to that trip. I understand how the pattern reads from your side, especially when what you asked for was the straightforward path the guarantee describes. That's a fair critique and I'm not going to spin it. What's changed since: we opened a US returns facility in South Florida. US returns now stay domestic. Return shipping is still customer-paid per our policy, but US customers no longer need to weigh an international return against the alternatives we offered. On the manufacturing point, some of our pieces are made in China, which is part of how we keep prices accessible without cutting corners on materials. It's not something we hide, and it's not something we think customers should feel misled about. Carter, you took a $67 refund in April on an $85 item. Looking at it fresh, I'd rather just make you whole. I'll refund the remaining $18 to your original payment method today. No strings, no ask. The gift card is still yours.
