I’ve heard rave reviews about the former dental practice Cornerstone but nothing but bad reviews about Sage and I have to agree. If I could give them less than one star, I would. My husband and I moved to Florida from Illinois after he retired and needed a new dentist. Since several of our family members had been going to Cornerstone, we decided to give them a try. From day one, it was like “pulling teeth” to get in for regular cleanings. They would either reschedule, at times at the last minute or cancel appointments altogether. This was during the transition when Sage was taking over Cornerstone. When my husband decided to replace a bridge, we explained that we needed to submit most of the work done to our insurance which would be expiring on May 31, 2022. The amount that we would pay out of pocket and agreed upon with the girl in billing totaled just over $7,000. We had agreed to pay half up front when the work was started in April of 2022 and the balance upon completion. When we finally left the practice in October due to poor service, I requested our records to be released. At that time, they emailed our records with no indication at that time that there was ANY outstanding balance. Almost one year after the work was started, I received a past due bill totaling over $15,000! When I tried to dispute this bill, both in writing and multiple phone calls, we never received any correspondence from them except the continued bills. They are now threatening to my husband’s excellent credit by submitting this to collections. This dental practice is absolutely horrendous, trying to line their own pockets with erroneous claims.

Possible class action lawsuit being started against Sage Dental due to inaccurate diagnosis and billing practice. Any complaints, contact Ingrid Robinson in Delray Beach, Fl or your insurance company to join possible legal action. investigate reviews before you go to any of their offices!

-Minus- They need to be upfront with their billing practices. Patient needs to get PRINTED detail or estimate BEFORE the work is performed NOT when you are "in the chair". They do push "Deep cleaning" for more $$$. +Plus+ The Lake Mary office is well staffed and efficient.

I went for a routine checkup. I have basic insurance. After a good results on dental xrays, The dentist decided I needed a deep cleaning. This is not covered on my dental plan and they knew it. I asked for a basic cleaning which is covered on my dental plan. They said no they want me to pay for the $343 out of pocket deep cleaning and they said that since they decided I had to have deep cleaning I could not get a cleaning. This means I am screwed out of my second visit this year also because I wont be able to pay for deep cleaning on insurance until next year. It was a slap in the face to their client, me, when they said they were so sorry. They don't car, as I can see this is a common issue with others that are complaining about them. This was their arbitrary decision to not allow me to use the insurance benefits available and to work with me. Please look at the other reviews before going to this practice.

I changed my regular dentist office that I was going to for past 6 years due to the distance of 20 miles. Sage Dental just opened up near my home address. The office and setup looked very professional, my wife and I were excited to find them so near home. During our first visit, they just took x-ray and measured depth of our gum. Then the visit was over. I was surprised by this and asked why are we were not having routing cleaning. They said they would need to schedule that on a separate day. I’ve been to multiple places for dentistry and never had to waste an additional day like this. My wife goes to our previous dentist every 6 months. But here they want her and me to come every 3 months to get periodontal maintenance. They also want to do deep cleaning on my wife who again goes regularly to our previous dentist. After all said and done, we have been paying over $1500 out of pocket after insurance. Previous dentist every 6 months was covered by insurance and I had to do periodontal maintenance every 4 months so I was paying $130 for in-between visits. These corporate chain like Sage Dental is all about charging fees. When I complained about how come their costs were so much, the reception guy who also handles billing said, “Well, we can’t help it if your insurance does not cover all expenses.”

I have a new delta dental plan. I chose Sage Dental from a short list of dentists to choose from. I went in for a cavity and they did x-rays and an evaluation. At the end I got a printout with what I thought were recomendations and prices. Including an off site root canal bringing the total cost to over $3000. They wanted to do a deep cleaning for over $350(my cost) and wanted to do it that day. I told them I needed another appt as I was busy that day. After reviewing the recommendations I decided I had to scale back, to cut costs and do what was absolutely necessary. When I called back cancel the deep cleaning nd only get a regular cleaning they told me that, they were not recomendations but their plan for me, and cutting services was not negotiable. They basically told me that I could get a second opinion and go elsewhere. I had paid $207 in advance for the deep cleaning and was told that I would get the money put back on my credit card. That was in mid January and still no refund.I am 74 years old and can only afford what I can, and it wont be at Sage Dental, where the dollar comes first, and the patient comes second. Stephen C.
