I was initially impressed with the great price and service promised. Once they got my deposit, that's where the nightmare began. When movers arrived on moving day only 2 men showed up when I had been promised 3. Would take 3 hours and it took 7. Items that should have been on the list weren't. I was charged an additional $2000.
The worst part were the delivery delays. My house closed April 30th. Movers didnt arrive until 14 days later. I was in an empty house with an air mattress, a metal chair and 2 dogs.
When the mover arrived, there was only 1 man, the driver. He called for back up. 2 men arrived 30 minutes later. One smelled like alcohol.
I found out the next day that these 2 guys were not employees of Safebound, nor do I believe they were subcontractors which put me in a position of liability due to lack of disclosure.
I had a container that was not mine left in my garage. It took almost 2 weeks of constant phone calls and emails to get them to pick it up.
Many of my belongings are damaged and Im still trying to get compensated to date.
Do your research before hiring this company.

Military Family, 20+ Moves — This Was the Worst One
We paid 2–4x more than competitors because Safebound promised no subcontractors, professional crews, and white-glove service. None of that was true.
What actually happened: The crew showed up two hours late. The team lead was so rude that one of his own workers quit mid-job. He argued with both me and my wife. They sent additional subcontractors we didn't approve — no uniforms, street clothes, some smelling like marijuana. Furniture was reassembled with stripped and missing screws. I had to go buy hardware myself so our kids' beds were safe to sleep in. They charged more than quoted and refused to move items we'd agreed on.
The biggest red flag: they only accept Zelle or cash. No credit cards, no debit cards. When a $4K Zelle payment failed due to platform limits, they pressured us aggressively until I went to an ATM after 10 PM to withdraw cash. Untraceable payment methods only, for thousands of dollars.
They didn't finish the job, wanted us to pay for their hotel to come back the next day, and no one from the company has followed up despite multiple complaints. There is damage to our home and furniture.
I've moved 15–20 times in my life as a military member and military kid. This was the worst by far. Do not use this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY
We called 5 moving companies for estimates to move our belongings from Florida to North Carolina. 3 companies gave us estimates over the phone. No way. We wanted someone to actually show up in person, look at our stuff, and give us an accurate proposal. Safebound sent a salesman named Patric and gave us an estimate. After negotiating, we accepted their proposal and gave them a 33% deposit.
When the moving crew showed up, the manager told us that we needed to buy more truck space totaling an additional $6600. My jaw hit the floor.
I told them to move as much as possible including all heavy items. The following morning I rented a 20 foot U-Haul truck and some laborers to help. Also, I now had to tow the vehicle that I was going to drive. This resulted in an additional $2000. Then I had to hire laborers in North Carolina to help unload the U-Haul truck for another $500. Also, Safebound charged me an additional $2000 for packing supplies.
After posting a negative review, Safebound’s resident bully called me and offered an insulting $200 and then raised it to $400. He accused me of extortion when I declined.
If you hire this company, you are asking for trouble.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK
Where do I begin? This was a carrier assigned by a broker ( my first mistake). The crew in FL left a huge mess requiring a cleaning service before we could close. We are seniors and couldn't handle it. The extra fee for the piano was a joke- the guy needed my. Husband to unpack the Allen wrench he needed. Parts from the piano, bed, etc. were thrown all into a box unmarked for the next crew delivering my load. I paid extra for art packing and could hear the broken glass in the box, my piano was broken, furniture was destroyed or damaged, 40 items total, many where I paid extra for them to pack. Crushed boxes marked fragile in huge letters. Lost parts to the bed and couldn't assemble. Bookcases came broken and missing the shelving. I'd just lost my parents months apart and they destroyed precious heirlooms, even chins I paid them to pack. Sent a rig that could not drive in local roads and then had $2000 more to pay for a shuttle. We were missing boxes, lord knows where they are now. Thry acted so concerned and offered to settle but then said it was such a big claim I had to go through their insurance. They offered $250 which didn't even cover the $300 I had to pay to have laborers come move a table they refused to bring upstairs and move the marked boxes to the proper room and story as they were left in big stacks everywhere either no regard as to where they should go. And for that $350 after they threw another $100 at me, I would need to sign a gag order.
I chose to decline and warn you instead.

Poor customer service
I am rating their customer service as a one. (I would rate the actual moving people as a 4). I was referred to them to move a grandfather clock locally. The 'estimator' CHRIS quoted $999 which included 3 hours of time for THREE people, PLUS charges for one hour of travel, a clock technician charge, and an 'operational charge.' When I asked if this was a flat rate, they said no, it was an hourly rate based on 3 hour minimum. I had no idea what was involved. I had to rely on their estimate that it would take THREE people. Clearly that was an upsell to inflate the price. But, of course I didn't know that. I was floored by the estimate so in order to be sure that it wouldn't end up costing more, I asked for a flat rate and was offered a flat $1000. The original contract had the specifics, but the document I signed only stated that a clock was being moved, without detail. When the truck showed up, there were only TWO people. Had the original quote stated two people, the cost would have been about $240 less and had I negotiated a flat rate, it would have been based on that. I emailed the original estimator person who kicked it 'upstairs.' A person (ZACK, I think) called me and was extremely rude, would not let me explain why I thought the fee was unfair, but he continued to talk over me even while I asked him to stop and listen. He continually told me I signed a contract. I maintained that the estimate and the agreed amount was based on more workers than were sent by the company; but he wouldn't listen. Even the driver could hear this guy speaking loudly and not stopping when I asked him to listen. This is poor customer service. Making a small consideration in the price would have been in order or a polite person who validated my concern. But, they had my clock on the truck and wouldn't bring it in until I paid the full amount. So, I did. I sent a follow up email and received even a ruder reply. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I feel sorry for their actual moving staff. They were polite, nice, and handled my clock carefully. However, although the person who was the clock tech handled the moving parts well and reinstalled them, I had to ask her to set the time and then after she left, it wasn't keeping time. I realized that she hadn't started the pendulum. Once that was done, it worked perfectly. Since there was a separate fee for a clock tech, wouldn't you think they would know to start the clock??

YOU FAILED
Unfortunately I will never use your company again nor will I ever recommend you to anyone.
1. You raised the price incorrectly after my first full property inventory. ** I had already paid $6,000 deposit that was non refundable so what was I going to do, cancel and not get back my $6000?
2. Terrible communication, spoke with 3 different people and everyone said something different each time.
3. Driver refused to haul off all the tape and boxes they used. I’ve moved 3 times in 4 years and the other company always removed their trash, tape, and boxes.
4. You forced me to pay with Zelle rather than accepting a credit card like all reputable and quality moving companies do. I’ve always been able to use a credit card to pay!
5. I was told that I would have 4 people loading and unloading the truck and only 3 people loaded the truck.
6. The loaders in Naples asked me for a tip so I generously gave 2 drivers $30 each. The neon contact person said not to give him a tip,
7. It took 6 hours to unload and I helped them buy carrying in items throughout the entire time.
8. You lost, misplaced, or stole 2 extra large boxes of valuable items that included keepsake, antique, and irreplaceable items valued at nearly $3,000.
Disgusted, disappointed

Total deception
If I could give no star for unprofessionalism and deception that’s what I’d do. Bare in mind, the moving company is the middle person between you and the company transporting your items. The only constant was the quote number, the amount just kept sliding with no clear explanation. No phone calls were returned and the staff were not trained to answer pointed questions. None of their documents had the same information. If you talk to three representatives about the same quote every single person would give different information. The staff are all REEK and STINK in every way. The salesperson of course was very warm. Once you start making inquires of the increase in cost, the general manager ZR was beyond disrespectful and lied consistently about him returning phone calls. His mannerism was so low I regret ever talking to him and doing business with this company. First he cuts you off, then he tells you, don’t forget you already signed our contract. First call was nothing more than deception. I was quoted on the minimum required cubic feet which is 400 (cf), that wasn’t told to me. During the walkthrough call an additional 50 cf was added this increased the cost by $330. When they came to pick up, they told us, our boxes were over sized and this will used up at additional 76 cf costing $413. We then asked for justification of the 76 cf and we were told that maybe our item took up dead space which we’re expected to pay for. Initial quote was $2.5K , final output on delivery was $3.7K. During all of these calls the supplier never once stated that there was a minimum required box size, dead space, a minimum quote as well as a shuttle fee if a 53ft trailer cannot be parked at your gate upon delivery. Let’s talk about damages and packing deception. PBO means packed by owner. Every single item was taken from our premises in whole form. They then broken them down or remove parts yet they labeled them as packed by owner which means they’re not responsible for the damage. There is a lot to learn dealing with a deceptive supplier. From all of this, dealing with moving companies isn’t an exercise for the weak and you should do a lot of research before choosing one. Expect hidden fees with no explanation, bullying, condescending and blatant disrespect and total deception from the staff. Advice is to have someone measure the cf of your house, get your initial quote on the exact cf and also ask about dead space and how it’s justified and get the exact dimension of the box size. Also, they should ensure the staff hygiene is pleasant and suggest they change their top after each delivery

Don;t trust Safebound
Last April I made a very big mistake, I hired Safebound Moving and Storage to moved us from Florida to North Carolina. It started out with them Lying to us about the cost. I called and told them that they had underestimated the price and was told several times "We are professional movers and we know how to pack a truck." 2 days before the move the cost had gone from $14000 to $36000. I should have cancelled them then. But they already had $7800 of my money as a deposit.
There packing crew showed up and only 1 could speak English. They went thru the house spreading paper and boxes. Adding to what we had packed already. Before they were thru they wanted me to sign a computer form saying how great they had done packing the house. I refused.
The truck arrived, they loaded it and the new crew and Driver unloaded the Boxes and other items into the new house. They did not stick around to unpack. The driver wanted to get home to Miami that day. Another BIG Mistake was that I did not check the Trailer. I think he either left several big boxes on the trailer or they were never loaded on that truck.
As I slowly unpacked I found I was missing several $1000's of Antiques and Collectables, plus About $2500 in Jewelry that I just found to be missing. I found One box that was packed with old Hummel's the was dropped, then dropped again so over a $1000 in figurines were broken. Lamp shadeds were crushed and jammed into big boxes. Conclusion: PACK YOUR OWN STUFF!!!
It took a long time to get unpacked, My Wife was very sick and unable to help. I was contacted by someone from Safebound and told that they "Wanted to handle my claims in house and he could find me another 150 year old 400 day clock" to replace the one that disappeared. It been a couple months and I haven't hear anything back from him.
Whatever you do hire another company to move yourselves not Safebound!
