It's great when it works. I have found a few great sitters. Unfortunately they are booked a lot. The ones I've used are just wonderful and true pet lovers. It would be nice to filter location only. Rover puts sitters on first with good reviews. I have to go through too many to find one close to me because they are scattered Website should be more user friendly. LATELY I have had trouble finding sitters who are not putting all their information online. I spend too much time messaging to find out in the last message they send that they work all day or they have too many pets, some aggressive. Some I don't find out until I've wasted gas on a meet and greet and see it for myself. Why would I pay someone to crate my dog all day or leave them alone? I can do that myself. These people have no business being on Rover and Rover should be screening better.

Help finding a caregiver for our Pup was pretty easy & with a couple of stays I think we've found a good fit. The tech end have me some grief & I didn't get an answer for about a week but finally figured it out. I Communicating thru Rover 's # is not optimal so far because it's texts & I wonder, what if there was an emergency?? But we like our caregiver so we'll hang with it for a while to hopefully work out the kinks.

The website needs some tweaking. I picked a sitter that I thought would be good (and she was!), and immediately after I was put in touch with her the website shoved 3 more people in my face. It said my chances of finding a good pet sitter would increase if I chose a couple more. In the space of 5 minutes I had a response from two different people, the one I originally chose and one it pushed me to choose (who I could tell would also have been a great choice). Well I ticked the second one off because neither of them knew the website did this and I had to turn him down. And when I showed the first girl what happened she didn't know of this practice either. The second grief I have with the website is that I did not receive all of the updates or pictures that my sitter posted. I would get a notification that she sent 3 pictures but could only see 1. And none of her morning check-ins were transmitted to my phone. I had to go back to the website to see the reports and all the pictures. In summary, the sitters are great, the website needs work.

Mac and his wife are the best. Mac knows dogs and is able to integrate dogs with ease. He is very easy to work with. Mac is an independent contractor of Rover. Rover.com is set up to protect the dog sitter. Why would you have to pay a deductible if the sitter had possession, control and custody of your dog? Especially if they were negligent. That should go under their liability insurance where you are not subject to a deductible. Another point. Prior to going to Mac I met with another sitter who was a total waste of time. She couldn’t control her dog. Her dogs were barking the minute they heard us with our dogs which created a lot of anxiety on our pups behalf. She was unwilling to even integrate the dogs to see if they would get along which made me question her ability. Her questions were directed on our dog that was from the pound. If someone doesn’t want to work with specific types of dogs that should be indicated on their webpage. Since she was unwilling to give my dog the time of day I consider that rude and a waste of time. My recommendation is to do your research. If it says “I have a big yard there is no need to walk them”, understand what the person is truly saying. Ask them specifically what breeds they prefer and what type of dogs they able to handle. Don’t let their profile mislead you. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Take the time to interview the person prior to the dogs meeting. Know exactly what you are walking into before you subject you and your pets to a bad situation. Meeting Mac was a great experience, but unfortunately I went through a horrible experience first prior to meeting him.

Something didn’t seem right however with 52 5 stars I ignored my initial concerns which were a cold “welcome” Many more dogs then the three as described in the description, a disinterested answer when I asked where he would sleep. The worst incident was a shoe box of medication that fell from the couch onto the floor. It was only noticed by me. I was so desperate to make this work I left my baby there overnight. The next day she says she’s moving out of state. Unbelievable!

My walker is great but our schedules don’t mesh often and my dog isn’t getting walked as many times as i’d like. I’ve contacyed several other walkers who aren’t available or don’t even bother to reply. Discouraging. My puppy is spending her days in the car with a potty break on my lunch 😔

I like the idea of Rover and the individual dog walkers have been great. But the phone app interface is cumbersome. I have to individually contact all possible walkers to find one, then there is no calendar or confirmation of specifics, only day and service. Most important info is time. I simply want to be able to say WHEN I need someone and let them bid on the job, not the other way around. With Uber, I say where I am and when I need car; drivers then figure out if they can do it and let me know. This is way too much work and too many steps. Also HATE getting both text and email for every silly interaction,e.g., you just texted Charlotte. I know that, I texted her. Will be looking for another option.

My dog has not been injured or lost, I would say the Rover service is a ticking time bomb. The people sitting know that your dog can't talk so even the friendliest of people (on the surface) don't listen/follow your directions as they are only trying to do the minimum amount of work for the pay. For example, I told two of the sitters that my dog's walking harness needed to come off when he wasn't being walked outside. But in the photos posted by the sitter on the website, my dog (and other dogs that the sitter has watched) was wearing his harness the whole time and/or was in an awkward position indicating discomfort from trying to lie down while hearing the harness. And while Rover says that only 20% of the applicants are accepted for sitters, I've found most of the sitters surprisingly ignorant about Dog 101 -- like you should never risk exposing other dogs to an un-neutered male dog over 6 months of age (standard policy for professional pet sitting services). In two other cases, my dog was extremely thirsty upon pick-up, indicating that he didn't have readily available water during the stay. Also, I contacted customer service twice and received no response. Also, your "private" feedback to them about the sitters is actually forwarded pretty much "as is" directly to the sitter -- a privacy violation.
