Pet sitters as convenient to book as Expedia.com
The convenience of having several vetted pet sitters to choose from is phenomenal. Getting a pet sitter through Rover is as easy as booking a flight through Expedia. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because, contrary to the Rover website FAQ, I could not edit the days when the pet sitter I chose could not do the last day I'd wanted. I'd envisioned this as a "hand back the key and talk about how things went" day, so it was no big deal when they couldn't do the last day. But the website did not allow me to delete the last day, and so I had to enter a new service request for that sitter. I got no email or text saying the sitter had accepted the new itinerary, and then they forgot to let me know they'd completed their first drop-in visit, so when I got to my destination I was wondering whether the visits were actually booked or not. This was very worrisome to me and I sent a text to the sitter to confirm. Once the sitter confirmed and agreed to send pictures/notices of their visits, it went well. I would assume that agreeing to sit for 3 indoors-only cats for 6 days would require the sitter to scoop the litter box, but the sitter did not do this. I found that odd and so that's another reason Rover gets 4 stars, not 5.
