So rover has a guarantee that they will take care of your animal if anything happens in the care of your sitter. Well something did happen to the my dog in the care of a sitter. She was severely dehydrated, her sodium levels were through the roof because of it. She had a high fever, and they had to manually clean out her nose because it was so impacted. She had a two day hospital day to get her rehydrated. Their way of getting out of it? I cant PROVE the sitter wasn’t giving her water. 6 DAYS IN AND PERFECTLY HEALTHY, but ehhhh you can’t PROVE IT besides sitting at the sitters house who you trust because of rover to make sure she is hydrating your dog. We have photos and messages about how great my dog was doing the first few days. Perfectly healthy and energetic. Rover even made a video of how great she was. A simple google search besides the VET says a dog can go 72 hours without water, BUT it only takes 24 hours for dehydration to set in.ALL WITHIN THE TIME SHE WAS AT THE SITTERS. Also I learned with rover they actually do NOT vet the sitters. This was a last minute find because the original sitter told us she couldn’t sit, but apparently that’s a thing with rover too…..that’s a whole different post. So if your animal goes through something, ROVER will find a way not to back their guarantee. They will find a way of saying you can’t prove it. I will NEVER use rover again, I’ll pay for actual ppl at a vet/lodge to watch my baby from now on. Oh and rover will respond like they care and want to make it right but I have all the emails proving otherwise.

I’ve been a loyal Rover user for years and have used the platform with multiple pets without issues, until recently. We booked a last-minute sitter who was relatively new to Rover. We trusted her because Rover presents all sitters as vetted and safe. That turned out to be a mistake. She made several poor decisions that put our dog in an unsafe situation. When I discussed these concerns with Rover’s Trust & Safety team, instead of taking accountability or addressing the sitter’s inexperience, they permanently banned me from the platform without explanation. It’s clear Rover does not adequately vet their sitters, provides minimal accountability, and charges high service fees without ensuring basic safety or transparency. Their customer support is slow, scripted, and ultimately unhelpful. I’m deeply disappointed. I’ve spent thousands on Rover over the years, and this experience showed they care more about protecting their platform than protecting pets or loyal customers. Do not trust Rover with your pets.

To all dog owners becareful of the sittdrs on this app .Most of the sitters are just interested in getting money many of them.having mulitipme dogs.I left my dog with a sittwr she came back.ill thin When you comolain to.rover they oretend to help im.takung this further I paid 700 pounds upnfromt was going away foe a month I was getting bad feelings when I was away my dog could of died if I dudbt come back .rover is a scam app dont vet the sitters please dog owners ve aware not all these sitters like diogs but luv the money.

Rover has been an absolute nightmare. This is the third time I’ve had serious issues with their platform. My profile was deprioritized after losing “star” status, even though I provided correct information after Rover staff gave me wrong guidance. Now, my account is completely invisible, and I received no notice or explanation whatsoever. My account was bringing in real money, and this sudden disappearance has caused serious disruption to my livelihood. Customer service has been unhelpful, inconsistent, and dismissive. It feels like Rover doesn’t care at all about the sitters who rely on their platform to make a living. I am seriously considering moving my services to another app, and I strongly warn anyone thinking about using Rover to think twice. Lack of transparency, terrible communication, and repeated mishandling of accounts make this platform unreliable and frustrating. Do not trust Rover with your business if you actually want to earn money!

Have been a dog boarder for a few years with Rover but increasingly tired of their rip-off charges (typically 15%) on BOTH the sitter and the person looking to have their pet boarded. No idea how they can justify the fee given that 99% of the time they do nothing and the 1% of the time when you need their help they are utterly useless (I ended up speaking to a young intern in the US on their so-called 24 hour "emergency" line who was well-meaning but could offer next to nothing to assist). Boarders - find other ways to advertise, owners simply book direct with a local boarder, there are plenty about.

This is the first time we have used Rover & will never ever use them again! We met the Rover petsitter this morning, she had a very aggressive dog that almost attacked my small dog that was in my arms when I approached their front door, then she proceeded to slam the door on me probably to protect me and my dog! She took the booking knowing we had a small dog. I am concerned about the way Rover vetts its petsitters, I rang the Help Centre and spoke to Ven who was unable to give me any information about this and hung up on me when I asked too many questions. I then tried to report this safety issue so that no one else would have the same traumatic experience and got nowhere, just got referred to an article by the virtual agent even though it said, ‘if I can't help, I'll connect you with someone who can’! They say that ‘The well-being of pets is our top priority’ but I don’t believe it!

Erg misleidend. Deze app rekent voor de eigenaar 15% servicekosten met een maximum van €49. Wat ze nergens duidelijk melden is dat de oppasser óók 15% van het bedrag inlevert, dus er worden dubbele servicekosten ingehouden. Op het betaaloverzicht van de oppasser staat namelijk nergens vermeld dat de eigenaar ook servicekosten betaald. Op een boeking met vraagprijs €480 betaalt de eigenaar €529 terwijl de oppasser maar €408 ontvangt. Dat is gewoon niet transparant. Reactie van support: ‘dit staat letterlijk in de servicevoorwaarden’. Nee, er staat nergens in de voorwaarden dat er náást de servicekosten voor eigenaar óók servicekosten voor oppas gerekend worden.

Bonjour moi cela fait un an que je suis sur rover et j'ai eu que un client car beaucoup de clients me contactent pour dire oui et pour réserver et au final ils ne viennent même pas résultats des courses cela fait que je perds toujours des places même je trouve que l'assurance qu'ils enlèvent pour le service est cher franchement les clients ne respectent pas je trouve que quand on réserve c'est qu'on réserve on n'allume pas la dernière minute une personne est venue chez moi à déposer son chien et quelques minutes après elle a décidé de reprendre 😡😡 je ne comprends pas beaucoup de choses à dire mais c'est une application qui promet avoir des clients et exetera au final depuis un an j'ai eu qu'un client très déçu
