David S the dog sitter on the Wirral.
David S the dog sitter on the Wirral met our 2 dogs at his residence a few months ago and was comfortable with them. He wanted a night with them prior to us going away in December when he would have them for 2 weeks. He had them for 5 hours and called us to come and collect them as he “could not handle them”. He has subsequently cancelled the whole booking after we paid up front months ago. Very unimpressed. Will not be using his or the service of Rover.com again.

Do not book a sitter through their app
Book a sitter through their app. The sitter not showed. As per their help team" even though the sitter no showed they are allowed to still charge me $50, and that there is nothing they can do about beside me asking the sitter to please not scam me" definetly never using this app again. If you do use it, good luck.

I do not recommend this company
I do not recommend this company. A dog died because one of their sitters put a bark collar on the dog without owners permission and the dog got out and was running scared because of the collar. Dog was hit by a car and passed away. Disgusting!! I have no idea if that sitter is still employed by Rover.

So far I am coming up empty when I attempt to get a booking with someone who is AVAILABLE according to the website and who does in home sitting. I have made four attempts in the last 24 hours and gotten three who have said they are not available either on the dates or for house sitting. The fourth one has not bothered to reply and I sent the message hours ago.

Never again
I had one of their star sitters watch my dog recently. The sitter seemed nice, visited twice before the dates & my dog liked the sitter. We came home after 10 days and we have house damage of around $1200 to pay out because the sitter damaged various things in the home, as well as water damage.I cannot leave a review on the sitters profile because I am so angry & when asked about how the damage happened the sitter was very off and short.

How is no one eating Rovers lunch?
Rover takes a big chunk of the money involved in these transactions, and all they provide is what is truly the very worst app I am forced to keep on my phone. It's never gotten better the entire time I have again, been absolutely forced to use it. If there was an alternative it would be the highlight of my week to delete it.

Avoid avoid avoid as a pet sitter
Avoid avoid avoid as a pet sitter. You risk not getting paid. Very rude customer service. I would recommend using other competitors. Their services fees have also increased. Rover are now making 41% per booking.

Stay away from Rover
The independent contractor lost my brothers dog on day 1. The provider is refusing to help find the dog. The dogs name is Proton. Check out pawboost and help find Proton!
