I feel like it is getting worse, rather than better
I have been using rover for about 6 years now. There used to be a feature that notified me when the sitter was entering or exiting my property. I recently send a customer service request asking why it went away and was just told the app had been updated. I would like to know why. You are trusting a stranger to be in your home. It would be great to know when they are actually there and for how long. Also, the app should require that the sitter send at least one pic every day. This is very inconsistent among sitters. You could force this action through the app if you wanted. I have also found more sitters to list their status as available on searched dates and then they say that they are not. Not long ago, I had 4 sitters say they were not available. Also, so many don't seem to understand that "house sitting" means staying at the house. Is this not defined for the sitters when registering through the app? Having said that, I have found it to be very helpful to find sitters and most have been good.

Our team received your feedback and we appreciate the time taken to give us such candid feedback. Feedback from users like you is an important part of maintaining a quality experience and we appreciate you taking the time to share this insight. Here at Rover, we understand that each pet and each stay is a unique experience with unique requirements. Some owners prefer a daily photo and report while some prefer minimal communication while on their trip. When selecting a service provider, Rover always encourages both parties to establish expectations and requirements for the most success. For daily services such as walks and drop-ins, we do have Rover Cards where sitters will often add photos and the card displays the time the service starts and owners. While sitters do schedule their own availability, they may be unavailable based on other clients and may not be available for your area on that day due to prior commitments or distance. If you would like any assistance please feel free to give our Rover Support team a call at 888-453-7889 and we’d be happy to help.
