The app is easy to use and the pet sitter we found was great.

Very easy to find people in your area, and Elsie is fantastic. My pup loves her! I gave 4 stars because of the Rover app. It's not the most user friendly when it comes to updating the schedule. Everything else is great though! I appreciate Rover.com!!

Rover is a convenient way of finding sitters. For the most part, I find the features and interface helpful and easy to use. However, there are some aspects that need work. The fees do add up to be expensive and the sitters have a large cut taken from their pay. When searching for sitters by date, it doesn’t show the total fee for that sitter before I book, so I don’t know how much it will cost until I contact the sitter. I’ve had to awkwardly tell a sitter to disregard once I saw the final cost because it was much higher than expected. To try to determine the cost, I’ve had to look at each sitters “services” and then try to add up the amounts and anticipate what the fees will be. Lastly, it doesn’t allow me to change anything once it is booked, I have to ask the sitter to do that so the price adjusts. Overall, it has been very helpful and I use Rover regularly.

Rover.com is very good at what it does: linking high quality carers with pet owners; and there are always options for your pet no matter what their requirements are. There are some annoying issues with the website though which I think would do well to be looked at. For example my dog has quite specific needs, so she requires a carer with no pets or very young children. Rover.com still suggests I contact carers with these disqualifying criteria though, and I would have thought they could easily be filtered out based on my dog's profile. Otherwise I'm constantly having to visit a carer's profile to look through whether they have pets/young children. For example after I've contacted a suitable carer it'll suggest I contact other carers, many of whom are not suitable. What's more it never remembers my postcode when I go to search for a new carer, so just little things like that that make the user experience frustrating.

The ease of use to find a sitter. Some of the candidates are wonky but that's what the meet n greet is for. 70% of the time I get lucky with a normal and nice sitter so that's good odds.
