We was going to Vegas and I needed to find the best for my 3 English bulldogs. Rover made it easy to find someone who could watch them in their home. I did not know or realize there would be multiple dogs at this home, hence the reason I stayed away from boarding facilities. Long story short 2 of my 3 bulldogs came home with kennel cough and a respiratory infection. It was an unforseen vet bill along with the medication. From now on I will only allow family and friends to watch my babies. Just know your taking huge risks of having your dog come home sick and or worse!!! I would of never took that trip had I known this. Watching your babies gasp for air is not a good feeling!

Finding an available sitter is difficult. The sitters show availability but when you request, they have a different story to why they are not available. It took contacting 15 sitters that showed availability to finally book with one.

I found a fantastic dog walker and I’m very happy with him. But - the Rover app and website is very complicated and it is hard to get a good overview of the current bookings.

I liked the person we finally ended up with but it was hard to pinpoint active profiles and inactive profiles. I reached out to several pet sitters and did not receive replies from many of them.

My sitter was perfect with my two dogs. My issue is that my blood pressure went up and I had to go to the hospital and so I came back a day earlier. I waa not going to try to get a refund for the one day I didn’t use, but to my amazement, I called my sitter and asked her if picking up the dogs a day earlier would work for her and she said, “yes.” She then asked if I wanted her to adjust the time on Rover to reflect she had my dogs 3 days instead of 4 days. It was a kind gesture so I said, “yes please.” To my shock instead of getting a day’s refund, which is what we were both expecting —I instead got a charge for $44.15. I contacted the sitter and she was surprised and did not know that would happen either. So she offered to request the charge be waved. I was lucky she knew about waving the fee. I think Rover charges extra fees to both the sitters and the dog owners and that information is not listed anywhere that I came across. The “late fee” or “change schedule fee” was waved however, I never got refunded for the day or a partial refund for the day I did not use even though my sitter was more than willing to change the schedule and in doing that we “thought” would mean I would get a partial refund. I do however, like the convenience of finding a dog sitter online.

Im a sitter on the app and I am shocked with how high the fees are. Not only do they take a large cut from the sitter but also take an even bigger cut from the dog owner. So in total they are getting a HUGE amount just from 1 booking. I understand they need to make money also but i am just shocked how much they take. Wouldn't surprise me if people just went privately once the first sitting is done through the app. Apart from that, the app is good, mordern and easy to use :)

The app needs to be easier to navigate. It’s confusing and unorganized. Example: how do you access place to leave a tip.

The app is not user friendly as the website. I can’t change the request once I submit it and hard to contact to change. Needs to be more user friendly. Should be able to change the request sent because customers needs change.
