I have used Rover one other time
I have used Rover one other time, and had a great experience. This most recent experience was not as satisfactory. The gal who kept my dog, had multiple other dogs when my dog was there. I just assumed that she would just have my dog and her one dog. This was not the case. She also allowed the dogs to void and defecate on "potty pads" in her home. 😡

Generally I have had good luck with…
Generally I have had good luck with Rover an have trusted the service. But we just had a horrid experience, with the sitter not walking our dogs, visibly intoxicated on our ring cam, and locked our dogs in (no access to the dog door.) I had hoped for better from Rover. Please improve your screening processes, also please improve website operations. The site is clunky.

Need better search options
I’ve had mostly good experiences with sitters on Rover, but I wish there was a way to search for a specific person.

Thanks for your feedback Challice, we're glad to hear it! Though you can't search for people by name (as we want to protect our community) you can rebook with a sitter easily from your profile page. Or, if you know the person you can ask them for a link to their profile. Hope that proves helpful next time you need to book on Rover!

Good service needs better vetting
I had a horrible experience with our dog sitter. However rover Support were good about chasing them for contact and resolving issues and now the dog sitter is no longer offering services through the site although their profile is still there. I was impressed with rover dealing with the situation but wonder if vetting for sitters need to be better.

Sitter’s advertising as available really not
The first inquiry and sitter worked out well. When attempting to find another sitter for the days he was unavailable, it has been impossible. Despite several sitter listings posted as available, none of them really were for the times I need. Five inquiries and none available. Will try a different Aop.

Sometimes sitter availability is based on best fit- if they are already boarding several large dogs for instance, they may not want to take another for capacity. However, if there are several small dogs it may not make sense to take a larger dog for safety reasons. Non-responsive Sitters
I am a sitter with Rover and a user of the sitters. In August I was in need of a sitter and contacted 3 recommended by Rover and did not get a response back. I sent out another three but had started asking friends and family for help and only 1 sitter contacted me back. Luckly the sitter I had used became available and I am so blessed to have found her but I have a hard time recommending Rover when the sitters just don't respond. I was on vacation in Med and answered request sent to me so they can respond too or drop off Rover.

Hello, we're so sorry for that experience. We do send out regular reminders to sitters to update their availability and their accounts are affected if they do not. We are also currently testing more reminder options! If you haven't already you can message up to ten different sitters a day. That way you can find the perfect match for you and your pet.

Great service
Great service, but the pricing could be revised. Commission / fee should be flat for the booking/transaction rather than pegged to the amount of money being spent / days being booked.
