ROVER is a RIPOFF

This is a review about the company NOT the sitter that we used on ROVER. We absolutely loved her but ROVER is taking advantage of them and us!! Granted we would have never found her without Rover but the fees that they charged us and took more fees from the sitter is absurd!! Our stay total was $234.00 they charged us 259.74 (25.74 administrative fees) which honestly we understood. What we didn't know was that the sitter ALSO got charged fees! So she did NOT receive the full stay price of $234.00 She only received $187.20 ! THEY CHARGED HER ANOTHER 46.80 and even though we paid as soon as we booked the stay, she doesn't get her money until after the stay is over! So ROVER is operating off our money for almost 3 weeks!! They are ripping the sitters off! $72.54 in FEES to ROVER!! Shame on you!

When signing up, our terms of service outline the service fees associated with each booking - sitters are subject to a fee as Rover utilizes this in order to operate, provide 24/7 support in case of emergency, access to veterinary specialists should a medical issue arise, ongoing site maintenance and updates, payment processing and our Rover Guarantee. These fees also help to market sitters and build their clientele. In short, these fees are in place for every single booking to ensure Rover is able to continue operating and providing support.
