We liked the efficiency and ease of using Rover.com but our walker ended up not showing up to walk our dog. The walker walked the dog twice but then the third time she only walked her for 10 minutes and the fourth time she just didn't show. We were disappointed because she seemed like a very pleasant and responsible person. Rover.com did handle the problem professionally and speedily. They reimbursed us for walks that never happened and apologized for their walkers unprofessional behavior. The walker got two stars but Rover.com got four stars. Only four stars because I think it's hard to find what I need to on the website.

We were so disappointed with our last stay. We have used Sarah in the past and were pleased, however we had several issues with this last stay. 1) Abby appeared to have been bitten or injured on the inside of her ear as she came home with a large scab. While these things happen, it would have been nice to have had a heads up that something happened. 2) Abby had a very large piece of poop dried rock solid under her tail. It was so hard and large I had to soak her in a hot bath for 10 minutes to loosen it and remove it. This could have been avoided had they cleaned her immediately when they saw it. She is all white and the poop was about 2"x2" dangling. It was quite noticeable. 3) Her bed came home covered in diarrhea or throw up. Again, these things do happen but they could have thrown it in the wash for a quick rinse to clean it. I gave 2 stars because I'm sure she received a lot of love from Sarah's daughters during her stay. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Rover.com is one of the easiest apps I have ever used. Finding someone to watch my animals has never been easier I feel my animals are very protected.

The application is not very user friendly compared to the other app it was switched from. I don't really enjoy it!

I had a meet and greet with a sitter who I was going to allow into my house to spend the nights my dogs and everything went seemingly well. She accepted the job and sent me a bill DOUBLE what I thought I would be paying since her rate said "per night" and not "per dog" When asked why I was asked to pay $100 more than I thought she told me the reason was I had 2 dogs while also stating Rover takes a large chunk of her pay so she could not do any lower. I obliged to paying the total amount requested despite the hidden costs, mainly because she was my only hope as my trip came up abruptly since it was for a funeral. Two days went by with my message saying I would pay full amount and wanted to hire her unanswered. Then, low and behold, the morning I fly out of town I send one more message confirming her services and then is when she told me she didn't want the job. 2 hours before my flight left! So I called customer service to have them help since there was no time to have an official meet and greet and they said they would put out an urgent message to all sitters in the area and then let me know. I STILL have received no phonecall, text, email, nothing. and it's a week later. So much for Rover being concerned for the wellbeing of dogs! Fortunately, my boss heard my story since i worked until the moment I left for airport and sent her brother-in-law over to house sit. I was in the airport, boarding the plane when I finally knew my dogs would be okay. Now I can't leave a review for the girl who blew me off and Rover Customer Service blew me off as well. The stress of that day was horrible! Thanks for all of that Rover! Is there another service similar to yours but better?

Sadly, Rover.com does not verify the information sitters include in their listings. The result: you will waste time going on “Meet and Greets” only to discover that the sitter you’re meeting does not have the promised house or fenced-in yard and may even have dogs of their own, despite an assurance that your pooch(es) will be the only ones in the house during their stay. Two months ago I shared with Rover.com our experiences of specious listings on their site and was promised they’d investigate and make adjustments. They have not; the offending sitters’ listings are still posted as of this review with no corrections, so more potential customers will pack up their four-legged kids in the car to go on a “Meet and Greet” and discover they’d been misled. We were originally customers of a similar service called DogVacy.com, which was acquired by Rover.com. The other service did site visits and was apparently much more thorough in their due diligence when working with sitters. Those responsible practices appear to be gone. When you read Rover.com’s response below, notice how they are unable to dispute the basis of this review. What does “holistically investigate” even mean? If you love your pets and don’t want to waste your time, you might want to make other sitting arrangements.

Sitter kept texting me all weekend for small problems that they could have easily resolved. Ruined our anniversary weekend trip as we were worrying about our dog all weekend. When we got the dog home the dog was sick, throwing up and had diarrhea. It was definitely not a good experience!

I had had a great experience with almost all my sitters. One experience was so bad and I received no help from rover. I had a potential sitter harass me and message me at a unreasonably late hour, I asked rover to help but received none. I needed the sitter to be blocked from messaging me and continuing to harass me but got no help and the harassment continued much longer.
