I cannot believe Rover chooses to outsource their customer service to other countries with non native English speaking reps who cannot help me after an hour of trying to trouble shoot a small issue with my phone number. The process of iust spelling out my email to find my account took 10 minutes because they don’t speak English and don’t know the letters. This is unbelievable and unacceptable. If you’re going to hire support reps you need to test their speaking skills and their competency skills. This was a really negative experience to the point where I don’t even want to use Rover again because they don’t care about their customers and clearly not even enough about their employees to train them. So where is all the money they are pocketing going? Because it is not going to supporting the people involved.

Be very careful with the service I would ask around because if you're in a bad area you'll probably have a very bad experience, had a gentleman name Jose not tell me the power was out in my apartment no power means no AC additionally it means no security system
Not only this but sometimes people will be sensitive snowflakes or just be incredibly unfriendly or two-faced
Another example is sometimes sitters will ask you to leave a review and then immediately try to get your account suspended or deactivated by any means necessary So you can't take off the review
I've been with Rover but it feels like it's slowly going downhill

Rover will not protect you or your Pet…
Rover will not protect you or your Pet - DO NOT USE THEM! DO NOT TRUST THEM OR THEIR PROMISES TO PROTECT YOUR PET! They are LIERS! Rover was the first, and last, dog walking service I will ever use. I signed on a lovely dog walker to walk my puppy. There had been multiple walks with no issues whatsoever, the dog walker even gave me beautiful reviews and very positive feedback that my dog was one of the best behaved they had ever worked with. Then after one incident, that occurred when the dog walker was distracted, ROVER refused my request to file a claim. Instead of filing the claim as they should have, they dropped me as a customer, removed me from the app, deleted all evidence that the incident occurred ON THEIR WATCH and refused any further communication.
Rover's response is very disappointing - this is exactly what they told me after they pulled my account and expressed there was nothing else they can do. Very sad that they can only provide you with a template automated response providing the support contact info but when you call they can not actually provide you with support or assistance.

Jeremy B.
We used Jeremy several times in the past and he was very good and our pets, both cats and dogs loved him. However, in February we went to Mexico for a trip planned well in advance. On the first day we arrived in our suite, we got a phone call from the security company telling us the fire alarm was going off in our home. We tried repeatedly to contact Jeremy by text and phone call to which he did not respond. I could see on our security cameras the firemen and paramedics standing on the porch. We were terribly upset and frustrated with the fact we could not reach him to find out what was actually going on. Eventually he did call us and state that a little piece of cheese had fallen off a pizza he was cooking and he would clean it up and lied to us about the firemen being at the door. Well that didn’t happen as when we returned home I went to use the oven and smoke came billowing out of the oven where we had to shut it off and wait for it to cool before we could clean it before we could again use it and it was obviously not just a small piece of cheese . Obviously, it was not cleaned as he had stated. Then 2 days later, I was monitoring the security cameras as obviously we were now uncomfortable and uncertain if our home and pets were being cared for properly. So, 2 days later I continued to watch the security cameras to make sure everything was being done and our home and kids were being taken care of and not abandoned. It was around feeding time, and I could see the dog bowls on the counter and no one there. I then texted him and ask about what was going on. He replied that he was at home watching the super bowl with his wife and got quite nasty about it. He then texted back at 2 days into our vacation he quit and would contact Rover to hopefully find someone to fill in for him if they could. He then left, leaving our dogs in the house without anyone to care for them and our cats without care also. We then contacted Rover ourselves. They attitude was “well we will see if we can find someone in the area to fill in for Jeremy.” They were unprofessional as was Jeremy. They did not try to find anyone and had the attitude it wasn’t their problem, why don’t we see if we can find someone to fill in. Didn’t we have family or friends that could fill in? They only friend I had that would have been able to do so was in California, the next one lives out of state and we have not family to speak of that would have been able to fill in. The company is unreliable as is obviously Jeremy. When you can’t depend on the person and/or company to take care of what you paid in advance for and now our vacation is ruined, we are in a panic trying to decide if we should end our vacation that had been pre-paid far in advance and try and get a flight home from Mexico. Which flights from Mexico are almost always fully booked. We didn’t sleep much that night. Also I leave a large tip for Jeremy every time we had used him in advance where he can take it with him so he didn’t have to return to get it. I texted him stating that he was not entitled to the tip. He texted back that he had already used it for gas and food but would leave the rest. He was basically only here 2 days and took a large percentage of the tip I had left. I don’t see how he can feel justified in taking such a large percentage for a job not completed, no one to replace him, leaving food behind that couldn’t have cost what he said he had used, for food we would not eat. This was such a horrible experience, that we will never ever use Rover again as they are a horrible, unreliable, appalling, undependable, disappointing, service company. I had to pay for the service in advance which means that Rover and Jeremy were paid for a service for a week for care and service we did not receive. This ruined our vacation and upset us and our kids for lack of service, and unfulfilled contracts. I am saying don’t rely on this service as if there is ever a problem, it won’t be fixed, your contract won’t be fulfilled and they simply do not care as long as they get their money. It will be your problem should anything happen. Look elsewhere for a pet sitting service, I can speak from experience. We have since interviewed other pet care services and providers as we will never use Rover again. Believe me there are a lot of more qualified, dependable services out there. We were informed by several of these services that Rover does not properly vet their sitters and they are similar to Uber in hiring sitters. If I could give a 0 star instead of 1 star I would. It was a horrifying experience, one that I would not want anyone else to experience. Rover did refund the days he was not present and contacted me by email several times pretending to try and make things right, which they never did.

The first dog sitter (Owen) canceled on…
The first dog sitter (Owen) canceled on the day he was supposed to start watching my dogs, which put me in a horrible and stressful position of finding another dog sitter on extremely short notice. Fortunately I was able to find someone (Caitlin), who was available to watch my dogs while I was gone for four days. There has to be a severe consequence, like a financial penalty, if a dog sitter who accepted a booking cancels on such short notice.

Negligent sitters lost my dog
If you want responsible and trustworthy dog sitters, I caution you against booking Anna and Adam. I would give them negative stars if I could. They lost my dog while I was out of town and when she ran from their house, they waited almost 4 hours to contact me. They did NOT call my emergency contact AT ALL. When I asked why they didn't call my emergency contact right away, they said, "we've never had to use an emergency contact before” which makes zero sense.
If they had contacted my emergency contact as stated in our agreed-upon care plan, my dog would most likely have been found because she ran home, as lost dogs are known to do. A neighbor told me she had recognized my dog on our street about 30 minutes after the sitters lost her. Unfortunately, my neighbor couldn't catch her. My emergency contact would have immediately gone to my house to look for her and most likely would have been able to apprehend her as my dog knows him. The sitters didn't even know where I lived so obviously they couldn't know to look there. If they had called me right away (or called my emergency contact), I would have told them to go to my house immediately in case that’s where my dog is headed. However, they chose to wait almost 4 hours to call me and they chose not to contact my emergency contact.
My dog has never been a flight risk and has stayed with different sitters at their houses multiple times with no issue. These sitters admitted to leaving my dog alone in the house with the front door open while they were preoccupied outside. They blamed the wind for her running away. They know she follows you everywhere, so why leave her alone without ensuring the door is fully shut? If it’s especially windy, then this is even more reason to ensure the door is completely closed.
I get it; accidents happen. But once you make poor decision (waiting almost 4 hours to contact me) after poor decision (NEVER calling my emergency contact), the blame rests squarely on your shoulders and you should not be dog sitting anymore.
Yes, these sitters are STILL active on the Rover platform. They have all 5-star reviews. Why? Because Rover refuses to allow me to post a review on their Rover profile due to 21 days passing since the end of the stay.
I had no idea about this 21-day review policy as I did not receive a review reminder from Rover. Believe me, I would have immediately left an honest review to warn other pet parents not to use these people if I had received the review reminder. As a result, I’m forced to leave a review here which, I’m sorry, does not carry the same weight as posting directly on their Rover profile. I can only pray that these sitters have learned their lesson and now know never to leave a dog they’re allegedly dog-sitting alone in their house with the front door open. I wouldn’t want anyone to endure the nightmare I went through and continue to go through.
To date, my dog is still missing and the sitters continue to put other pets at risk by remaining on the platform.

Review of Rover Trainers: “training” same as YouTube tips
Save your money && scroll through some dog videos on YouTube. We were really hoping that for $110 we would get tips about how to get our 2 year old pup to stop marking in the house. Instead we got a bunch of “tips” we had already learned from the internet. Save your time && money by doing the most basic cursory search online. Not worth the money && the trainer was stuck up/pretentious like she knew everything that ever existed about dogs. Newsflash people: your “insight” can be found on TikTok or IG reels. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!
