The pricing is confusing at times and most sitters are grossly overpriced! Expect last minute cancelations or no shows.

We had a very bad experience with the girl who watched my puppy to the point where she didn’t communicate with us about our dog, lost our pups expensive toy, and the sitter was not even taking care of our pup because she was at a party. And on top of that she was saying nothing was her fault. And lastly the rover company didn’t do anything about it

The sitter quality on Rover is extremely variable and after hearing so many horror stories of dogs running away from sitters place, last minute cancellations or dogs coming back sick, I started getting skeptical but still decided to use the service. Our sitter returned the dog to our parents (who were supposed to be a call away in case of emergency) because she couldn’t handle his energy and barking even though all expectations were set in meet & greet. When I contacted Rover they clearly said they cannot take any guarantee of sitter quality or how they would react in an emergency situation. If they are there only for creating the list of sitters then I am not sure I can put my fur baby in unreliable hands anymore.

Caroline was very sweet and reliable. My review is not personal towards her, but I reached out to Rover.com to let them know how dissatisfied we are from her short visit with our 3 dogs August 14-15. She stayed at our house the night of the 14th. Upon arriving home, our oldest of the 3 dogs had a quarter sized burr lodged in the hair of his right ear. He was very uncomfortable. I took him in the house to cut it out, and found another large burr burried on the right side of his mouth and smaller ones in his tail hair. After that, I noticed the gate to the lower level to keep the dogs out from that area of the house was taken down. The dogs are not allowed down there, and I told Caroline there would be no need for her or the dogs to use that level of the house with such a short visit. I found 2 new urine marks. Lastly, the fine area rug in our main family room on the main level of the house had 3 very bright yellow urine stains on it. I was not made aware during Caroline's stay of any urine accidents or burrs in my dog's hair. If I had been made aware, I could have instructed her how to clean the area rug. However, now, the area rug needs to be professionally cleaned. We've used Rover in the past (Ashley R) and never had anything like this happen. Very upsetting!

J’ai une seule bonne expérience après que des déceptions des petsitter qui parle beaucoup de l’amour qu’ils ont pour les animaux mais qui ne voit que la tune nous avions besoin que de 2 visite pour notre chienne et impossible de la la faire garder alors que tous les petsitter proposer étais marquer disponible et qu’il nous disait avoir oublié de marquer qu’il n’étais pas libre mais bizarrement quand nous faisions une demande hébergement au même personne elle étais bien sur accepter car plus chère méfiez vous une perle rare pour 10 pomme pourri

When I looked for a sitter for 3 nights I chose not the cheapest or most expensive. It was shown as £25 per night. When it came to confirming the sitter the cost had gone up to £30 per night plus a fee of £13.50. So instead of the expected £75 the cost had risen to £103.50. I would have paid this if it had been shown up front but to up the price and then add on costs at last minute is sneaky. I can go else where. Im sorry the sitter has lost a booking

We asked Ariel to come visit before we booked. We had many text phone talks previously. As we got to our front door we asked if she was vaccinated. Since we are here for medical reasons we are very careful. Ariel is not vaccinated. The new variants are the ones showing up at the hospital I find it irresponsible that, at this point, Rover does not let clients know or even include it in questions to ask sitters. Ariel was otherwise lovely but I hold both Rover and Ariel responsible for non disclosure

I liked being able to search for dog sitters in my area. My problem is that I kept getting correspondence from the people I didn’t connect with. It was like being stalked or harassed, texts for “please confirm “. I would decline the text but would still receive texts. And… Rover isn’t very user friendly, once my initial confirmation was made it wouldn’t let me go back to its website to view further. Rover needs some work!
