High fees
Rover is good for availability of dog sitters however the fees are extortionate and do not make the service worthwhile. As a pet owner you get charged 15% extra in fees and the pet sitter pays 15% of their income to commission. The pet sitter therefore inflates their prices to offset the fees they need to pay. So ultimately the customer pays an extra 30% than average prices.

Treat your sitters better
Treat your sitters better. Reward them for doing a good job and for staying with the company. You are taking 20% of their wages and giving nothing back.

I find your app is a bit much to…
I find your app is a bit much to navigate through. Getting started is so many steps. Needed a quick answer and never got a straight answer through the AI chat

I had extreme difficulty understanding…
I had extreme difficulty understanding and/or following navigation on this site. Thank Goodness for the 800 telephone number. I am a senior (77 yrs.old).

Did not know the price until I confirmed
Did not know the price until I confirmed. I would not have added my 3 cats to the request as they needed no care I put their litter in a separate room and filled up plenty of food. They are afraid of strangers and hide anyway so the sitter really didn’t have to do anything for them at all

UNFORTUNATELY the only game in town
I like that it lists people and has profiles and reviews. But it does not vet some of these listings diligently. I encountered a number of listings in which the people and their environment was nothing like they advertised. The ads and emails from ROVER to buy more bookings and products and insurance, is very annoying. They take a cut $ from each booking.

Rover is a great app, but needs more flexibility
I am grateful Rover is available and it makes it easy to search for a sitter, but I wish it was more flexible in scheduling/communication. There are a couple things that Rover can improve on: 1. Before you give a complete stranger access to your house and fur babies and hand money over to Rover. There needs to be Interview/meet and greet apts (at no charge). Need to make sure its a good fit for both parties and everyone is comfortable with each other. Also - once you link up with a sitter - for safety/security there needs to be information exchange: (phone, address, emergency contact) 2. Need to be able to edit times. Schedules change from both sides. Have it where you can change the date/times - and the other person has to accept it before it actually changes. 3. Should not have to pay up front for anything, Especially if the dates are more than two weeks out. Take a deposit and then process the charge 3-5 days before date(s), just like some smaller hotels do. This way you can afford to plan ahead - which helps peoples schedules.
